Check this out...
So I go into Best Buy to get a last minute tax deduction (spelled LAPTOP) for myself on the last couple of days of 2005. They have a great deal running on a Toshiba S-3293 for $1399.00 and a $150.00 rebate or $1249 after mail-in rebate.
Well... They do price match guarantees, so about a week or so after I bought mine, I'm checking around and now they're running a different sale! $1399.00 minus $400.00 INSTANT rebate! Now we're down to $999.00 out the door.
So of course... I go back in and say "what the heck" and sure enough... they matched the sale price +10% and refunded me $440.00! Now... I'm down to $959.00 for mine and still have a $150.00 rebate pending! If it comes through I'll get my $1399.00 Toshiba M55 S-3293 for only $809.00
To make it even better... I got back from the Boat Show Saturday late and it wasn't until after 10:00pm that I noticed the sale price. The Sale ENDED that day! They were really helpful the next day, and backdated everything and gave me the price match even though they didn't really have to. Pretty cool folks!
I wanted a reasonably fast laptop, but around 5 lbs. They have some beautiful machines out there that will rival a desktop, but they quickly come into the 10+ lb range. This one fit the bill perfectly.
