This is it....period......end of story......

Black with silver fleck 4 or 5 inch flatfish. Drop the ball to the bottom,
80-150 feet of water. Flatfish is tied directly to line. Drop lure 30 yards
off the ball. Bounce the ball off the bottom every 5 minutes or so.

Best place.........off the Chelan side of Wapato. Just follow Wapato to the Cliffs.

Kathy and I caught the most fish per boat in the two day tourney in 2003 (I think it was 46). For every fish you got a raffle ticket for prizes.
We only fished till around noon each day.

Good luck.

BTW: I have never posted the lure info before so don't spread it around too much. Also, they don't sell that lure at most places.

I think a week on Chelan will be a lot of fun. If we can have a few fish to fry, will make it all the better. The ball on the bottom is a new one on me. If it works I do not need to know why. When we get home from Chelan there should be salmon in the Columbia River. Life is good.

OK Spud, you've got to tell us what is the special stink juice that works well on the lakers. Is it a home recipe of rancid bear fat and anise oil or a commercial product.

Dragging the ball every once in a while roughs up the mud like a foraging fish. The trout (or even Puget Sound Blackmouth)
can "hear" this rucus and move in for the meal.

The best scent by far I have found for Chelan is Octopus paste.

There, the secret is out ! :D

Good Luck,
