Finally after 9 months I got DSL connect at the house.
I have 7megbit download capability and 1.5 up. I ran some initial test using www.speakeasy.com speed test and I am averaging 6meg down and 800up. (I am a happy camper) especially when they gave me that speed for $29.95 month for the first year!

That's a nice connection...
That would have to be a Rate Adaptive DSL (RADSL) line. Who offers those way down there? That's too cool! What's the cost after the intro period?
Mine is MUCH slower :(

I thought you guys were down around Everett?
You only need 18,000 ft from the headstream CO router. I thought everyone around here had it now. There's always cable. Much better, but more $$$
Rate Adaptive DSL rocks. We get nothing near that here :)

SS- Nope I've been on the DSL notice for a couple of years from Veri. I checked our address in Dec - Still nada :(
Our TV is been giving up the gost and we are looking at HDTV sets- so I'll give Comcast a chace to get us a package for Internet and digital HDTV.
If they can't get it together- Off to Sat. TV
FYI- Best Buy has no interest untill 2009 on their Big screens.

Lemme know when you get close on an HDTV. I might be able to save ya some ducketts. Also... when you spring for HD, go the extra $5/mo for the PVR. It'll change the way you watch TV.
Try running an address a few blocks away in different directions. Sometimes you might be on the end of the loop and they can still get you on. Also... alarm systems on your house will make it appear you're not close enough.
There is a CO on that side of the lake. Where exactly are you again?

SS, I raised a lot of stink around here as they were connecting to a new $400,000 remote switch and by passing my area. Just this last week I got the Executive office involved as I threatened legal action against Qwest due to the fact that they promised me service (business line) and after I signed up, got and account, and moved my office from my old home (2 miles away) they called said "sorry it is our mistake" we can not qualify your lines, probably never!!! I purchased the home on the premise that they could service my needs. Luckily the developer that built this little 5 lot development that included my 10year old house had privately contracted with Qwest to extend the phone lines down our road, they had no need at the time to cross connect this "pre-existing" service so to their enineers it appeared not possible. Well it came to my attention from the "cable crews" that it could be done with about a 1/2 days work and I brought that to the attention of the Executive Business office in the form of a "very official looking legal document" created in MS word. I got response from the head office in 24hrs and had the engineering and cross connection done, and today the tech did the CO/remote programing and darned if I don't have a connection now. I was offered it at $29.99 with out an end date as was being promoted.
So I am a happy camper and they are "out of my sights"
Moral is you gotta keep pressing if you really want results in the world of "pass the buck" and "no responsibility" and screw you customer no-service.

I had signed on with an older promotion that was $22.00 + the $7.95 ISP charge with Verizon. When I kept my dial-up connection for use while deployed, they double-charged me initially.
Later, I called to cancel my dial-up service... and they cancelled them both (dial up and Verizon ISP). So now... I get my DSL for $22.00, but it's not adaptive rate like it sounds like you got there.
I'd love you speed... but hesitate to bug 'em for fear of getting on a more "current" rate plan. :)

That's very cool. Broadband changes the way you use the computer for sure.

SS- we are about 1 mile from Skyline and Hill Crest schools Between 83rd and 91st on the Everett side of the 9 in Evergreen Estates.
My neighbor has checked as well- no dice.
It is the main reason I canceled my home service- I'm in the office more than at home so why pay the 14.95 a month for dial up.
One bad thing is I don't see what is happening here on the weekends!
PVR/DVR- Will do for sure- never miss Myth Busters again :P
Don't know how close we are to buying the TV- Still working on the Admiral. Never figured out why they complain about Electronic prices when they go off and spend $100 on hair care products

They're REALLY coming down in price too.
Bob and I were at the Exchange the other day and they had some beautiful 38"-42" LCDs (not projectors) in widescreen for $1500-$2000. We paid $1199 for our HDTV and it's down to like $1000 now.
Cable might be your best deal on broadband. Too bad you're out of reach for DSL.
Another option might be inquiring about a business line. Sometimes they're a little more in tune with meeting those needs (not to mention the bandwidth is better). I may jump to cable here eventually. Mother in law has it and it's marketly faster than mine... :|

Nice pricing?
We recently replaced, thanks to nature force, our 18 year old Bang & Olufsen for a new one, a 26"LCD one that fitted in our cabinet 4600 euro that's the punishment for liking Danish design. :D Oh, I forgot we got a 2% discount ! :D

We're real TV junkies here too.
Once we got high-def, widescreen and a digital recorder... we were couch addicts. :D
Even had to get new reclinig couches. :)
