Mike,
Would like to replace my old and ugly numbers off the lower hull and make some new ones up to put on the side of upper hull.
WN 1506 RF
The pin stipes are black and silver. Can we do the numbers in the same colors (silver with a black shadow) with out getting into trouble with the CC, and maybe a nicer font then block?
Thanks - no hurry and I'll pay up front if you need to buy materials!

We can do them however you wanna try it Ken. I think as long as they're contrasting colors with the hull and the proper size... you'll be fine.
Remind me next time we're at the field. I can cut lay them up and cut them right there in the "Old Man Van" :)

Here's the applicable law on registration numbers:

The "contrasting" part is pretty open to interpretation. I think a tasteful thin silver outline wouldn't show from more than a dozen feet away and not make them too odd looking.

I think Mike knows what he's doing and can fix you up with some great
lettering. I agree that as long as the Coasties can make it out well that they
aren't going to harass anyone.
Mike, please post the result. I'm tired of looking at the stark old reg. numbers
and would like to get something that didn't look like it came from the hardware
store!
I posted the link cause I just had looked at it for other info.

On our little boat we have burgundy numbers with black shadow out lines.
The font is not block, but almost a scrip type. They are regulation height and so far the CC/ sheriff hasn't given us any trouble- but I guess there always is a first time!
Breaking the law ..breaking the law....
