I know there are a zillion products out there, and I am sure that some of
the members here have probably tried most of them .... :D
Our new Bayliner claims the following:
(whatever it all means)
* Heavy Duty Marine Grade Vinyls
.. Expanded Back 29 (+/-1.5 oz) Ounces / Linear Yard & 45 Gauge
* Vinylester Skin Coat - Hull
* 100% Polypropylene Carpeting - Solution Dyed - Stain & Fade Resistant
* XL Composit Panels
What products do you recommend, or suggest, that we purchase, and have on
hand to clean the following on the boat:
* Vinyl seats and Vinyl Sunlounger
* Fiberglass on the boat after usage (outside & inside)
* Carpeting
* Bimini top and snap on covers
I've already added a shelf above to the car care products ... :lol:
Sea Power. Available at West Marine. AWESOME cleaning power. Even better than 3M Fiberglass Restorer IMO, and cheaper. Good stuff.

SS,
Is that 1 cleaner for everything, or is that a brand that has assorted cleaners
for all types of cleaning?
I need a different cleaner for each task ... yes?
* Vinyl seats and Vinyl Sunlounger
* Fiberglass on the boat after usage (outside & inside)
* Carpeting
* Bimini top and snap on covers

Spray 9 is great for general dirt, grime and grease. Any product that is made by MaryKate is usually excellent also.

FYI I have heard that using armorall on the seats will result in a whole bunch of folks on their butts..I guess its very slippery. :shock:
Not a cleaner but consider getting a helm cover that snaps on and keeps the instrument cluster and dash from a lot of direct sun exposure also keeps the dew off when out for an overnight

Thanks for the info .... it is appreciated ... :wink:
Like I stated before, I am going from antique mahogany wood boats into
the modern age of fiberglass and gadgets. Some of my questions may seem
stupid, but I only ask because I don't know ....
My dad always said that "no" question is ever stupid !
It is better to ask and get it right, than not ask, and do it wrong ....

I've become a big fan of the Aurora Marine products (www.auroramarine.com). Boat Scrub took the white film off the gelcoat with no apparent loss of material, as would happen with rubbing compound.
For quick cleanup, I use Turtle Wax Car Wash and river water. Simple Green is great for greasy stuff.
To keep the vinyl looking new, try a product called 303. It goes on like Armorall, and makes the vinyl look new and shiny. I think it is less slippery than Armorall. The big advantage to 303 is that it contains UV screen. It protects they vinyl from the effects of sunlight, and that is a big deal.
