Going to give Gig Harbor's second annual Folk Festival a big thumbs up. 2 days of music that we enjoy. Also a few artist I recognized but have not heard anythng from them in awhile. Danny O'keefe, Wendy Waldman, Steven Bishop to name a few. Very releaxing to sit on the bridge and listen to good music. Hope this event comes back next year as well.

We stayed home this weekend. I was on call for Recovery Room and had to take care of the post op surgery patients.
This is the big Ellensburg Rodeo weekend here and between broken bones and bar fights we stay pretty busy.
I volunteered to cover for the 4 days since we have to stay home anyway.

I babysat the docks for the whole four days since I'm the rookie of the group. It has been a boat show going both ways all weekend. Please honk and wave if you go by! :D

Is that gonna work out pretty smoothly? I'm guessing yourold school isn't too happy about it. Will they continue a program there or will it all move with you and the Gunny?

Just back from 4 days in FH - Just relaxed and drank good beer and scotch.
Weather was great.
Caught up with Tally and Vicki, they are out in the islands for 5 more days, and Sea Puppy stopped in for a few hours for gas and lunch.

Curtis NJROTC will continue until the sup figures out a way to kill the program. I'm happy at Bremerton. Good school, good administration. The school colors are Blue and Gold, the school song is sung to Anchors Aweigh and the band wears NJROTC Combo covers and the girls flag team wears dixie cups... The unit has been around since 1984 and they have been falling over us trying to make us happy... so over all , a good change... I gotta stop working so late though... got to school at 5:45AM and got home just before 8PM... first week is always a long one... at least for me and the MSgt...

I need to correct myself. I forgot you had the MSgt with you and I've been reffering to her as a GySgt. Certainly don't mean any slight to another even-numbered warrior. :)

Last Thurs night we took "Del-Sea" over the hump to LaConner. Stayed on the boat and slung in Friday AM. Incredibly cheap, $20.00 round trip. Friday motored to Bellingham. Set a couple crab pots and got all undersized males. Sat we walked to the Farmers market and Sat night our daughter and her boyfriend flew in from Las Vegas. Sunday we motored to Semiahmoo marina. Set pots in Boundry Bay. Caught 2 crab and reset for overnight. Had a very nice late dinner at Semiahmoo motel restaurant. Monday we picked the pots and got another 4. Traveled back to Bellingham and had a great crab feed before the kids flew out in the evening.

Today we traveled back to La Conner, slung out, shopped, found a greasy spoon and came home. Traveling from Bellingham to LacConner, we got into some fog. The Admiral was ****ed because she didn't want us to run in the fog. The radar worked perfectly and I just followed my track on the GPS. The radar is really cool, this was the first time I've run in thick fog and I'm darn glad I had it. By using the GPS and radar together, I felt very comfortable with our travel through the soup.

We had a wonderful 5 days on the water. Wish we could do it more frequently.

sounds like a fun time... I found it very wierd how many boats w/o radar will go through the fog without much slowing down... and there I am going slow BECAUSE I have radar and can see the idiots out there in the way...

We had thick fog coming back through Thatcher’s pass. Fired up the radar-slowed way down made it through just fine. About half way across to Anacortes the fog thinned out and I went back up to the upper helm. Looked behind us, it looked like a baby elephant parade following us. Must have been 30 boats all following the one in front of the other and of coarse they all blew by me when the fog thinned!

Congratulations on your new job, Doug. You did an awesome job with the Curtis NJROTC program. I'm sure you will do another great job at Bremerton HS.

Btw, did you finally settle with the insurance company? Was it reasonable?
