A few odds and ends that I still have to pick up .... Input appreciated
I have purchased a new model Shakesphere Antenna for the VHF radio.
It is the Galaxy 5400 XT - 3Db (4 foot)
I have two options now for the mount: stainless steel vrs. nylon
Both are ratchet mount ....
Stainless will hold up better over time and provide a more durable mount. Most Bays come with a plastic ratchet mount if they come with factory radios. I'd say go with stainless. Initial outlay a bit more, but worth it over the long haul and resale.
I agree with ss. On the other hand, a 4' antenna will work just fine with a plastic mount. Just remember to change it out every few years because it will become brittle.

I would go with the plastic mount...just kidding ! Stainless won't yellow or deform like the plastic will over time. Gene

Thanks for the input and advice, it is appreciated ....
