Before I purchased my boat I had one manual downrigger. Shortly after I purchased the current boat I purchased one electric and kept the manual for the other side of the boat for the guest. About a year ago I purchased a second electric and kept the manual as a back-up.

So far I've had to use the manual once when the female side of one of the plugs broke.
