Here are some gasoline prices from a telephone survey I did today:

Oak Harbor $2.35 (less a $0.05/gal discount if over 100 gallons)

Blakely Island $2.60

Deer Harbor $2.96

Friday Harbor $2.98

It really sucks when you see those numbers and think: hey thats not as bad as I thought. Can't wait to see where they go this summer....

If we could only get them to run on milk... it's still $1.99/gal on every corner 7/11...

Notice that in the islands Blakely is still the price leader. They have been this way for a long time.

actual bump will be 3.5 cents first year...

Keep in mind that 9.5 cent increase is only enough to pay for 1/2 the projects projected costs to date... not counting any "surprise cost overuns".

I think it su&ks in that now I have to pay for all the Seattle projects with the gas tax and pay a toll on the new Narrows bridge too. Where is the equity in that? How come we can not pay for that project with the gas tax?

Oh yeah, congratulations Washington State for having the highest gas tax rate in the nation with NO accountability as to where the money went/goes!
