I have been fighting with mildew on my boat every spring. The Sunbrilla top has been my biggest problem. Never could get it clean. The rough, "walking" parts of the boat, I could get pretty clean but only after alot of scubbing. This year, I decided I would try this new stuff called "30 Seconds". I can't belive how well this stuff works. My top is now as clean as new, and the rough parts took just a light brushing and all those pesky little black spots that were such a pain are gone. I have before and after pics, but I don't know how to post them. ~Gary~[/img]

Every Spring I apply a mix of 50/50 bleach and water and spray liberally all around the engine block and under the deck making sure I get the underside very well. I have also used that mix on the rat fur in the cabin as well as on all the vinyl. Nice to know that 30 sec stuff works on the sunbrella. I normally put that top in the wash and get it clean that way. Never had mildew on that top though since I store the boat inside over winter..

wait, I think you missed a spot... no... it was a shadow... Stuff obivously works great!!!! nice find!!!
Stow the boat with Dry-Z-Aires inside and it'll keep the humidity below a level that the mold can grow... works great. You need to dump the water out every month or so, but they work wonderfully.

So let me get this straight....you sprayed on 30 second and basicly just did a light brushing then (hosed it off?) Did you need a haz-mat set up, or to mask off the rest of the boat? Seems too easy for such great looking results

Where do you get this miracle product in the great Northwest :?:
I've never heard of it.
Gotta be careful with anything that bleaches though. It's hard on the threads in the canvas.

The picts are great testimony for "30 seconds". Where do you get it? Hardware stores, Worst Marine, Boat Fix? That stuff looks like a "must have" cleaner.

I got it at Home Depot. Freddys has it too. Yep, hard to belive, mix it 50-50 with water, spray it on, light brushing, hosed it off, and mildews gone. I took the pins out, took the top off and did it in my driveway. I used a pump spayer because it was such a big job. Next is my deck.~Gary~

30 Seconds has been available in Canada (where it's made) for about 10 years. I used it every spring on my 30 foot vinyl covered sundeck and vinyl siding as a less damaging alternative to pressure washing. It really is a miracle product, but is NOT for everything. It has a lot of chlorine in it, so will bleach cotton (bye bye blue jeans) and weaken cotton threads (careful with the boat top)....just keep that in mind when using it.

The product does work, I am not sure what they did to prevent the "bleach" from damaging plant material, but I just did the whole house and no problems. Be sure to rinse thorougly or you may not have anything left to get moldy next year.
Also check prices as I have found the product sold anywhere from $8 gal. to $10

Did you get that at Lowes or Home Depot? I'm getting ready to scrub and wash the house myself and that might be just the ticket.

SS,
I found the best price at Lowes.

OK...
Bought 2 gallons of this stuff today ($8.97 at Lowes).
Lemme tell ya... THIS STUFF IS AWESOME!!
Unbelievable for cleaning the house! The black mold and gunk just disappears. Pretty amazing. I was cutting it 4:1 and it still worked miracles.
There is a downside though... this stuff will bleach ANYTHING. There's no way I'd use it on a boat top. The threads would last a week afterwards. It smells and acts like VERY strong household bleach. I had bleach marks instantly on the shirt I was wearing and by the time I was done it looked like I walked under dripping paint :)
It is AWESOME stuff though... something anyone in the Northwest could find uses for. I couldn't help but think how fantastic it would work in a bilge. (if I had one) :D
