Mike,
I see where the buyers picked up the boat ....

I guess it was a little tough to sign over the papers, it's like losing a family
member. I had a very hard time parting with my last antique boat, because
of all the work I did in restoring it and maintaining it.

I hear they are going to make a movie about you now: "Boatless In Seattle" ....

Look at the bright side of it, you'll have a new before you know it .... :D

You're one to call somebody "boatless" :D

I still have my little Carver, but it hardly qualifies as a boat... :?

SS,

The "little" Carver is better than no boat my friend ....
I was without puyting a boat in the water the past two seasons.
I am still boatless for another couple weeks ....

Like I said, after owning a boat, it becomes your little baby. To now
be into another season without it, does hurt some. Sometimes we must
make difficult decisions, be it for personal or financial reasons that we
may not agree with, but we make a sacrifice.

I am sure that your many friends there will keep you active in boating
until you get yourself another ....

Nothing too difficult about it. If I plan to buy another, I need to get rid of this one. I actually meant to do it last year, but procrastinated too long and the best selling market ended.

I'll wait until the winter months to look at whats out there I suspect. I need to decide if we're ready for something that's trailerable or something moored. I'd love the idea of an old trawler. Cup of coffee in one hand... varnish rag in the other would be perfect :)

That would be interesting, I would feel right at home helping you out with that one.
It would be like working on my old mahogany boats ....
You get the old trawler, I'll bring the sander, rags, spar varnish and beer .... :D

I just unwrapped the old Carver yesterday. I'm putting her on stands this afternoon and will be attacking her with a flat sander and D/A any day now :)

What year is it ? Are you going to take some pix of the work you'll be doing
on it? If you do, send me some pix of the boat ....

It's a 19' 1967 runabout. It has a 100 Evinrude "Electro-Shift" outboard. I think there are some pictures in the gallery now.

"Cost = one bottle of Makers Mark"
Are you serious .... .... was the bottle full? I would have thrown in
a bag of pretzels and a six pack ....

Nice looking boat you got there. I have a bottle of Makers Mark here on my
bar .... the guy have anything else to trade? .... :D

What shape is the hull and engine in? How's the interior look? For me, I look
at it as a "nice to restore boat" ....

I have not even seen Makers Mark in the paki's around here. Is it available
out your way no problem?
