It appears that "skunk" is a much more potent form of pot than the one that used to be the norm in the 60's and 70's. Hence, it isn't much different than the other "harder" drugs. It should be a crime to use that stuff.
The more traditional marijuana, a softer version, if you will, would lend itself to decriminalization, I would think. How the government would monitor it, I don't know. Since I don't smoke weed I don't pay much attention to it. British Columbia seems to have gotten it right, eh?

BC Bud is some of the most potent dope brought into Washington. When I went through the police academy in 2001, we were told it was 10-12% more potent than the locally grown stuff. Bad stuff.

Myself I do not think pot is bad. Never did. I liked it back in my early days, but found I ate a lot of cookies and slept to much.
