I am having a problem with my diesel furnace, a hot air Espar D8 model about 10 years old. Furnace works fine and cycles between high and low fan settings until boat warms up above thermostat setting. When boat temperture exceeds the thermostat setting and furnace only running on low fan, furnace shuts down as it should. Problem is the furnace will not restart again when temperture goes back down below thermostat setting even if I move setting to highest level. Only way to get furnace to restart is to manually cycle on off switch on thermostat. Anyone solved a similar problem?

Sounds like a call to Espar dealer is in order. :D

Try this guy
Dan Lohse
cell number- 206-949-0266
home 206-281-8055

He is an installer for boat electric, or more of an independant installer on their list of installers.
He is pretty easy to catch on his cell phone.
He's a pretty fair person to work with , give him a call and run it by him. He might point you in the right direction.

I had a similar problem with a pellet stove downstairs. I thought the thermostat was cycling off and wouldn't come back on, but it turns out it was a thermal switch that was shutting the whole system down prematurely. It was a simple snap disk.
