For your tire kicking friends:

'77 Tolly 26 600hr 1996 NEW Merc 454, 2:1 V-Drive, approx 2001 new fuel tanks, manifolds & risers, 2006 saw New Manifolds, risers, water heater, alternator, Start battery, House batteries (two golf cart), fresh water washdown, Propane solenoid and alarm, Fuel vapor alarm, Totalizing house battery meter digital like a Link 10, Bruce anchor and roller pulpit, windshield glass and more. Just splashed from winter storage at Lopez this week and it has new bottom paint (micron 66) and zincs.

It has good electronics, a 2001? Hypalon Caribe RIB and an excellent older Evenrude 6hp. Gel coat shines.

I'll be putting it in Boat Trader and Craigslist in a week or so. Asking $26k for all, $24.5 no dinghy or motor. I LOVE the dinghy :D

My wife and I decided to purchase a 38-40 foot Trawler on the east coast and take one year to do the Great Loop. I don't want the 26 to sit until the summer of 2009 plus when we get back at that time we want to get a Tolly 34. So someone is going to get an awesome 26 at a great deal.

Sounds like quite the plan you've got there. You'll have to tell us more about your Great Loop trip.

The Eastern USA is just an island after all :) 7,000 miles and up to 170 or so locks. Of course the best is to go counter-clockwise. Our route is the yellow one at the link:

Our toughest decision was to close the house at Stuart Island for next summer in order to do the Great Lakes, one of the "must see" parts of the Loop. There is a lot written and several good forums and lists about the Loop (sometimes called the Great Circle) and for anyone slightly interesed I suggest you check it out. It will definately be a Grand Adventure :D

You gonna be online the whole time?

It would be great to follow along with ya. Maybe I could set up a blog for ya here for you document your adventure. I know very little of these types of trips. Do you plan on keeping the boat afterwards, or passing it onto the next guy in line for the trip?
