The 2008 Democratic ticket will probably be:

Hillary Clinton For President / Jane Fonda For Vice President
Fonda can get a deal at the Hanoi Hilton for the convention ....
Hanoi Jane can get campaign donations there in Hanoi they
would not have to claim ..

Not a lot of humor in that post, nor anything for that matter.

Sorry,

But they are two of a kind and deserve each other ....

I am a veteran, as is my dad, my grand and great grandfathers.
I have NO use for anyone who does not support our soldiers.
Slick Willy ran off to England to avoid the draft, and Hillary was
somewhat involved in the anti war movement.

Everything is supposed to be ok now because Hillary is a Senator,
Fonda apologized, and now they say they support the troops?
.... I Don't Think So ....

They took sides when we Viet vets needed the support back home,
only to come home to be spit on, swore at, refused a beer in many
bars while in uniform, called baby killers and it was made known
that we were not welcome in many places.

Everytime I came home, I proudly wore my Marine Dress Blues or a
regular uniform, because I had NO SHAME in my being in that uniform.

I paid my dues, I served my country, now they can continue to pay
for their non- support of the troops, and I hope it haunts them for the
rest of their lives, and will come back to haunt Hillary should she decide
to run for President, just like it did Kerry ....

I will be the first to start a "No President Hillary" movement in my area ....

As are mine...

Slick Willy ran off to England to avoid the draft...

Not exactly... He spent '64-'68 at Georgetown University and then Oxford University from '68–'70), and then Yale until 1973. Hardly "running off to England" to "avoid the draft". You... or my Dad... or anyone else could have done exactly the same thing up until the college defferment went away in '68.

...and Hillary was somewhat involved in the anti war movement.

"Somewhat involved?"
[/quote]

Come on Al... I'm as conservative as the next guy... but some of this bashing is nearly as wild as the stuff Fonda actually did. Each of us has a right to express our political views, and to protest in this country. I'd like to think we in the military did everything we could to support and defend that right, not to attack those who excersized it after the fact.

I will be the first to start a "No President Hillary" movement in my area ....
"Viet Vets Against Hillary"

Although I'd never vote for her myself... I don't think I'd be interested in "Vet Movement" against her... or Jane Fonda for that matter... :)

Al, there is little or nothing I've seen to connect Fonda and Clinton. What is the point of making something up and posting for the heck of it? Fonda keeps a pretty low profile and wisely doesn't seem interested in running for any office, Hillary is a very smart, very educated woman who never spit on any vet..in fact she is married to the former Commander in Chief, seems somewhat patriotic to me. In fact she is a senator , there by she is doing way more than most to be involved in running this country, again somewhat patriotic. I wish you two wouldn't just clutter up this website just to hear your heads rattle.

Agreed, the right to protest is allowed here in the United States, BUT
it is only because of the countless thousands and thousands and men and
women made the "Ultimate Sacrafice" to maintain the right to do so.

Just as they have the right to protest the war, and the military men and
women who fought, and are fighting in foreign lands, I "very much so", do
have the right to verbally speak out against those who "did not", and
"do not" support our troops ....

Hanoi Jane made her anti-war stand and spoke her mind. .... no problem
Hillary & Slick Willy made their anti-war stand .... no problem
It was their right to do so, even though it ticked off most of the troops,
and alot of the parents and families of soldiers back home.
( BTW: Slick Willy was involved in anti-war protests while in England )

Now as a defender of that freedom of speech, I express my opinion about
three people I have no use for ....

To: Hanoi Jane - Slick Willy - Hillary
"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than
a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity"

Just my personal feelings, sorry if it offends some ....

against her... or Jane Fonda for that matter...

Now thats where we differ in opinion a little Mike. I would start something
to help see that Hillary DOES NOT get elected.

In Massachusetts here, (home of Kerry) I signed, and distributed petitions
for "Vietnam Vets Against Kerry", and there is already groups forming and
are formed, "Vietnam Vets Against Hillary"

There was/is no direct tie between Fonda and Hillary, but what they had,
was the anti-war demonstrations they participated in, but most of all, no
respect for, and a lack of support for our troops.

BTW: Thanks for creating this forum so we can speak our minds .... 8)

So Al, I assume that you feel everyone should give up their ability to think and reason, their moral soul and their right to dissent anytime a government decides on a course of action . So by your standards no one should have protested Viet Nam nor Iraq for that matter. Also I guess being the local state government has just raised taxes a buttload we should all be grateful, not complain and go sheepishly with the flow.

I'll tell you what...if no one ever protested a war or tax or law, then the reigning government would do whatever it wanted. We would be no better off than the people in Cuba or China. Explain to me what the point in soldiers dieing for freedom if no one is allowed those freedoms?

I have no problem with the right to "Freedom of Speech"

They expressed their views, so why am I wrong in expressing
what I feel about those who do not support the troops ?

I am only expressing my feelings just as they did/do about wars .... 8)

What was the purpose of posting that tripe anyway? It doesn't have anything to do with boating. You just seem to want to stir the pot. You're a decorated vet...I got it...you've broadcast that many times in this forum and the other one.

I voted not to exclude you on this site. Now, I would vote different.

There was/is no direct tie between Fonda and Hillary...

Then there is no tie. You can speak in terms of enuendo. I've never heard of the two of them in the same room... much less as political candidates together. Do you actually think either party would ever touch Jane Fonda as their only shot at an office like the Presidency?

...what they had, was the anti-war demonstrations they participated in, but most of all, no respect for, and a lack of support for our troops.

I think you're possibly confusing their political view, and possible lack of support for our government politics at the time.. for something against the troops themselves. I look at protesters as citizens. I don't feel betrayed, or looked down upon. The military was my choice. I believe in what it stands for. It's not about politics at all... and that my friend is where we differ.

The military is in place to project and deploy if necessary, the political decisions in power at the time. Do I think Viet Nam was what we should have been doing in the '60's? ... No. Do I necessarily think we need to be in Iraq right now? ... No. BUT... would I ever associate someone pointing this out, with being a bad American... of course not. I have a feel for Gene's beliefs. I understand his concerns and political views. They are as right as you or mine.

Jane Fonda has publically stated that she regrets some of her actions in the 60's. She was young, and full of fire and ready to right the worlds wrongs... and frankly... pretty much on the right track when it came to us being involved in Viet Nam. A LOT of money was made over there... and a lot of young Americans died for that reason... not Jane Fonda's poor judgements.

Hillary/Fonda in 2008

It was posted as a joke .... Political Satire
Sorry if it offended anyone

Just as "The Hat & The Bat" was some years ago

The Hat & The Bat For President & Vice President
The Hat - Congresswoman Bella Absuse (sp) of New York (for her hats)
The Bat - Gov. Ella Grasso of Conn. (for being a Bit*h)

They even had posters and bumper stickers ....
