COMMENTS: We Love the boat. It’s our first power boat. We named it “Kokomo” after the beach Boys song of the same name. I grew up with the Beach Boys there is a line in that song that describes our feeling about the boat. “A place to go to get away from it all”

Burr, I may have told you how I named my boat Jaruba, but if I didn't here goes. I also grew up with the Beach Boys and loved the Kokomo song and as you recall there is a line that says...."we'll get there fast and then we will take it slow" so I knew it was a perfect way of descibing us and how we boat. Then I somehow knew I would know you someday,.....so I named it JA...RU....BA after JAmaica, ARUba, BAhama that is also in the songs words, instead of Kokomo. Cool?!

Ted,
I do remember you told us that story about your boat name when we met you on your boat 3 years ago. We were doing a BB Charter out of Anacotis and came to see you at edmonds before the cruise. It was good to meet you and now that we are Washington State residents I'm sure we will meet up somewhere in the sound.
