Simple and fun install... Bought 2" wide stainless steel hangers, #10x1" ss panhead screws, used 3M 5200 to seal and bond the hangers to the underside of the cockpit roof and added 2" wide webbing with sewn in clips and I was done in under 30 mins with this project... (the Admiral was sewing the web strap clips on one end so add another 10 minutes)...
Still have to add condoms to the ditch bag... No, its for missing or badly damaged body parts like fingers, feet, toes, etc. and other wounds...

I'm curious ... what's in or are you planning on putting in your ditch bag?

Condoms for wounded fingers or appendages? Hmmm, not going to touch that line!!
I put together a large first aid kit for the boat. I've used it for all kinds of injuries and illness, from sewing up lacerations and wrapping "owees" to treating acute diarrhea. Several items for a layman's first aid kit may include panty liners and Kotex pads. No I am not joking. The panty liners have good wicking action for usage as a dressing and the pads are very useful in wrapping a large wound that is bleeding or oozing exudate.
I've never thought about making a ditch bag, so I'm also curious as to what you're putting in the bag

The actual guts were in a disaster bag sold by Costco...
The disaster bag as it came from Costco came with: USCG Approved dehydrated food "Mayday brand", USCG approved "Mayday brand" water with a 5 yr shelf life, USCG approved Mayday survival blankets, "Mayday" 12 hour light stick, First aid kit, 2 emergency ponchos, whistle, mirror, 2 particle respirators, sterized napkins, battery free flashlight and FM radio, plastic hazard waste bag, zip lock bags and alcohol wipes.
I added my flare gun kit with additional mirror, whistle, seawater dye, more flares and 6 shells in a water sealed box, 3 long burn marine flares, MRE's, water proof matches, butane lighter, VHF handheld radio, old cell phone, fillet knife, leatherman, and emergency contacts information. I need to pick up a solar charger for the cell. (Cell phones, though inactive, are required to activate 911)... So, it may be a wise investment to have an old one on board...???
Since I am not on the water everyday and keep the boat at the house, I felt it is a good compromise for us to keep more than the standard ditch stuff in the bag and have a few other food items in the boat incase we have a huge disaster and have no access to our home...
The condums are really a neccessary item for emergency use (no jokes)... They can be expanded greatly to take care of many wounds on arms, feet, etc.

That bag won't be in your way there?
BTW< your pics scroll all the way off to the right.
If you hit enter after each image link they'll drop beneath one another.
I'm really glad you suggested the Ditch bag idea. That will be on the "things to do list" when we get the boat set~up

On my opera internet, they show up one on top of another... I did as you suggested for those that have IE... so sad...
I can sit in the port seat and the bag does not get close to my head...

Digging this up from the grave.
Hey Doug, since your links to the images have gone bye-bye, do you have them anywhere?
Since our little escapade last weekend it has heightened our awareness.
A little reminder you can never be too prepared.
If it's easy cool, if not I have the list.

Very cool. We need to do something similar, both on the boat and here at the house. We lost our water the other morning due to a frozen pressure switch. I needed to make formula and had limited water. We have plenty of bottled water now.
