National airline, Air Zimbabwe, on Wednesday shattered aviation records history by cruising more than 6 000 km between Dubai and Harare with one passenger, highly placed sources said yesterday

Here's the rest of this if you want to read-

Heineken Beer - isn't it from Amsterdam?

Sure is, but it wasn't the good stuff. They had to settle for the
export bottles only ..
( Roel knows what I am talking about )

Zimbabwe is in a state of total chaos and completely bankrupt. If you know the country you'd know how sad this is. It was once, before Mugabe took power, the bread basket of Southern Africa. Now it does not produce enough food to feed half it's own people.

It's really sad.

And they're flying the national airline with only one passenger...

At least he ate well...

I wonder how many people they could have fed for the cost of that flight.
I'm sure someone made money though!

If they serve Heineken, there is just one good thing left in that country!

I'm not a history buff, but weren't the mid-African nations better off under colonial rule by Great Britain, France, and Belgium? Seems to me there was less civil strife and economic stability. Unfortunately, tribal warfare and pandemic HIV infection has killed hundreds of thousands of peoples. HIV will change the demographics and population densities of third world countries on the African continent.

44% of all deaths in southern Africa is now linked to HIV/AIDS. This is not helped by:
1. The South African government denies that AIDS even exists and refuses to provide treatment under it's medical plans.
2. Radical idiots are doing their best to convince everyone that AIDS is a myth spread by Western countries to try and stop population growth so they can "re-colonialize" their countries.
3. There is a strong belief, spread by witch doctors (now called Alternative Healthcare Providers - I kid you not!) that AIDS can be cured by sleeping with a 100 virgins.
...and the list goes on.

The demographics of Southern Africa will look entirely different in 20 years.

AIDS can be cured by sleeping with a 100 virgins.

Maybe we ought to tell the radical muslems about this fact? Then they can have fun before they depart for the 72 virgins in the afterlife???

Virgins - 72 or 100 ..

You'd be lucky to find 1 or 2 these days ..

I've been married for coming up on 17 years this time... even finding 1 or 2 virgins would be a bad thing... :P
