I discovered an area above the mahogany transom that would be fair for a vinyl name. It is limited in size so I'm wondering if you could do something in Brush Script with the size of 5X35 that wouldn't look too squished? I would really like a swirled gold with a dark grey shadow. If that isn't available, med dark grey with black shadow.

The Brush Script of 'Misty Chris" looks good with the caps and smalls just as listed. The call port of "Blaine WA" would be in black Brush Script as it will be on a grey stripe and won't show up in any other color. I would think 2" on the port name would be good enough.

Is this doable?

Thanks,

Sure... most anything is doable. :)

Here are two drafts.

Lemme know if this is going down the right road. Also... real gold is pretty pricey, but that's all relative too I suppose. I used the entire area (5x35) to give you an idea of theb proportions. Will the hailing port be a part of that, or on it's own?

That looks really nice! The hailing port would be on its own on the lower grey stripe.

Any chance I could get an idea on the cost for the gold swirl as that would be our first choice...though the grey looks really nice.

Thanks.

Smallest qty of Gold Leaf I can buy is $111.67 and Mirror Finish Gold $45.34and Brushed Gold at $38.84.

If you want actual gold (22KT SignGold), the cheapest qty I can buy is 399.50. :)

So you can see why many people opt for blue and black. It does look nice though :D

Do you know a link for visual samples of the first three gold types listed? I'll pass on the 22k though I'm sure it is fabulous.

Thanks.

It's hard to get a true idea of what they look like, but you can get an idea at places like Beacon Graphics.

Here's a link: Beacon Graphics (http://www.beacongraphics.com/specialty.html)

You can get a pretty decent idea there, or if you're serious about a particular color I can show you a sample. I have several sample booklets. Avery makes over 2000 different films of their own if you can imagine.

I think I have an idea what the "gold" leaf looks like...the $111+ one. With the grey shadow, would that work or would you suggest the black? Is there a better graphic than the shadow considering the "gold" leaf? The boat is a 42' white Chris Connie with an easy poxy dark grey stripe about 10' in height around it. I think the port name shouldn't be in brush script, the more I think about it. I'm not particular about that part. What would all of that cost?

Sorry to be such a pest.

Thanks for your help.

No problem. Shoot me your email address (somesailor@iboatnw.com) and I can get more specific about the cost.

When you start talking about anything metalic, the prices for materials get pretty spendy. I actually think the gold mirror finish is about the nicest looking, followed by the engine turned gold. The black shadow seems to accent it very well. I guess it all comes down to personal preference at that point. :)

You're right about the hailing port. That should be 3"-4" block letters or something along those lines.
