I added a register to the Admirals side of the cockpit. I redirected cabin heat via a "Y" and ran 3" flex hose to the cockpit under the deck. This was a pain in the butt due to the tightness of the area I had to fish the hose through. I have a storage pit between the cockpit seats with little more than 3" room to push the hose through. Being a "big guy", it was a tough fit to get the hose in place under the deck. The other concern I had was no control on the cabin register. So I cut the bottom out of a plastic fold out cup holder and screwed it over the cabin vent. Flip it up and full air goes to the cabin. Flip it down and much less air going into the cabin with more air going to the cockpit. The ADM can now direct the flow of air and close it off from her seat.

The ADM now has heat...

Took a cup holder and cut out the back and left the lid on to "lock" in up or down position...

Register with control. Added additional cup holder over a little cutting mistake... (Measure twice, cut once)...

Nice install. I am also amazed at your creativity. Cabin heat would sure make it easier to get crew this time of year. II Lucky is still RWC so I just add layers. Nice job.

Doug,
Your's looks like the Heatercraft too; is it?
Also was your a fresh install or did you just add the "Y"?
I'm trying to figure out how I want to wire mine. I'd like to make sure the fan can't come on unless the ignition is one. My 230OV, I had the 3 vent Heatercraft, but whoever installed it did a nice job, but wired it direct and you could bump the switch with your knee and the fan would turn on.

FYI, you can alter the vents you have to the
HeaterCraft Euro vent (http://www.heatercraft.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=H5041B)
http://www.heatercraft.com/images/products/Large/H5041B.jpg

That allows you to close it off. It should replace the Hottube (pullout kind).
The pull out's nice though.

It looks great! We have a fear of cutting holes in our boat.

The photo is exactly the vent I have on the ADM side. It is from heatercraft as is the heater system installed. I just added the "Y" to the installed system. The vent I have at me feet on the port side is also closeable like the above photo but an earlier model of heatercraft. See photo below:

Cutting holes gets to be fun as long as its in even numbers... (one to get the water in and one to let it out...)

Yeah I saw that more closely after I posted. The one with the cup holder vent/cover thingy~ma~jigger is the one I was suggesting that Euro-vent or swap it with the ADM's spot so she can stick the extend~o~rific hose under a blanket while underway. My Admiral's already making suggestions.
