NEW Gallery Back!

OK... so I broke down and reinstalled new Gallery Software.

You can get to it from a link on the top of the forums, or directly at:

www.iboatnw.com/gallery (http://www.iboatnw.com/gallery)

I've setup a few albums for those most active on here. If I missed anyone, it's not a slight, I was just trying to get a feel for the software.

Do me a favor if you'd like a personal album, or add to the categories I've set up. Go to the Gallery, register a Username and I'll transfer your album over to you.

Remember: This is a totally different piece of software. It doesn't automatically know your Username / Password from the site. They CAN be the same... but it (Gallery Software) isn't linked to your access here on the forums.

I can't seem to find where you'd "Start a new album" in the proper category

Todd, on the left hand side is a menu where you can add items. It might require you to save your profile first? I can't remember and I did it this morning, but I was fumbling through it and suddenly it changed. I wasn't paying attention and should have taken notes!

You need to login... and then add items... your album is already created.

Hey SS...I dont know why or how but everything is working again. However when I try to upload pics it takes me to an album with my name Erik Granroth instead of Play N Hookie II. Can those be combined?

OK... let's try this again. I created a NEW album... you already have your login. Try to upload some pics now.

That has nothing to do with the ability to add pictures. If you see where it says: Display Mode: Nehalennia | guest

Once you click Nehalennia... you'll see:




This album is empty.

Do it from Explorer in Windows XP. It's stoopid easy. You can upload whole directories at a time.

I was, but it spent about 5 minutes attempting to upload and then went to that screen. I'll retry it again later.

When uploading through Windows XP. You don't even have to be on IBoatNW.

It's all done with Windows Explorer... no web browser at all. (and no Add Items button)

When you go to add a picture, you select your album and then there is a little "Fly out" icon that is located right below the word "gallery" and to the left of the little shopping cart icon.

It'll slide out and there are a whole selection of "Actions" that you can perform. The fourth selection is "Add Items".

Once you get there... you'll see a group of tabs across your browser window (From Web Browser, From Web Page, From Local Server, Link, From Picasa, and the From Windows XP). That's the selection you want. There are two steps:


Windows XP comes with a nice feature that allows you to publish content from your desktop directly to a web service. Follow the instructions below to enable this service on your Windows XP system. Step 1
Download the configuration file using right-click 'Save Target As...' Once downloaded, rename it to 'install_registry.reg'. If it asks you for confirmation about changing the file type, answer 'yes'. Right click on this file and you should see a menu appear. Select the Merge option (this should be at the top of the menu). It will ask you if you want to import these values into your registry. Click 'Ok'. It will tell you that the files were imported successfully. Click 'Ok' again.


Download [install_registry.reg] (http://iboatnw.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=publishxp.DownloadRegistryFile&g2_vistaVersion=0) (for Windows XP, Windows 2000 and earlier Windows versions)

Open your Windows Explorer and browse to a folder containing supported images. Select the image(s) or a folder and there should be a link on the left that says 'Publish this file to the web...' Click this link and then follow the instructions to log into your Gallery, select an album and publish the image.



Follow those instructions and you'll see how cool it is. :)

Look on the main page and you'll see a link to "Gallery". If you're registered there, you've already been there.

You register a login in just like you do for the forum.

Thank you for your help SS... Yes we're already registered there. I found the page to upload pics to a gallery of our own and did so...also found where we can add another member's album to a "cart" but still unable to add our boat pics, excursions and etc to share with other members in the main gallery. I thought I was almost there until I ended up having to sign in/register into yet another area. It never gave an option to upload photo's for the IBNW main gallery, only gave me links to photo album software on Google...weird?

OK, I sent this question in a private message (sorry) and was asked to post it for all to see in the event there may still be forum visitors unable to find where to post their excursion pictures. I'm sure this is easy and I am more computer saavy than it seems.. it's just a different type of gallery software & set up to learn... "EL's" Admiral. Thanks in advance!

Like I said in the reply, the "cart" is only so you can send pictures to printing services and such.

Try it now... I think some settings we're not right. Has anyone else tried uploading any pics other than into their own albums?

Hmmm... I can't seem to add an Album. I don't get any options to add an album or upload photos. I can click on the link that you sent to Todd's album and get into his and probably upload to his album, :lol: but nothing for my own...
If I click on Stray Cat | Guest it doesn't seem to do anything. Am I just stoopid? :?:

Once you've logged in... you should be able to go into "User Boats" and then access your album. Have you tried that?

I have used several website photo galleries, posted hundreds of pictures over the years too but where am I going wrong here? This is what I have done to this point:

Login to IBNW Homepage>
Clicked “PHOTO GALLERY (NEW!)”>
click “Your Account” which gives Account Setting boxes with name/email. They're grayed out but visible. Left side of the screen shows the normal "User Options, Watermarks, Change Password, Navigation: Back to album but no link to upload pics or create an album.

Other route I've tried from Photo Gallery page:
Clicked thumbnail for “Member Boats” (has 2 pages)>
Clicked “Sidebar” which shows “Add Album to Cart, RSS feed, View Slideshow, View Slideshow Fullscreen” and below that a list of the Gallery items. No link to add pictures here either. In upper right corner, next to “Sidebar” it has “Your Account” and “Login” or “Logout” whichever the case may be, still no upload photo feature.

I'm no dummy but this is frustrating! Is the link just missing for our account?

Yes... you locked yourself out.

You have to be sure you give the system a valid email address and then when you register a new account, I get an email and I approve your account. Then the next time you log in... poof... :)

Three tries and it locks your account. :)

Success sort of... Can't upload to any other place but our own but at least we finally got the welcome message in the main gallery area, whoohoo!!

Thanks for all the work you've put into the new software as well as in all of the other areas of IBNW. The categories you've put together in the gallery are a nice variety, excellent choices! We've registered a Username, will you transfer an album over to us now?
