Hello all
I am looking for suggestions on towing my 12 RIB. I cruise at 9-11 kts and have it set approx 75 feet behind. I have the outboard in the up position.
Any other warnings or advice from those of you that do this more than me?
Thanks for the help.

Usually it is towed on the back of the second wave behind your boat. Duck if the bridle breaks....Gene

I have never heard of much success towing a RIB before, they tend to swing back and forth due to the rigid keel. Towing a flat bottom boat does not have those issues. Ted :D

at that speed it really should not be such a big deal... Just do as Gene suggests...
I towed a 10ft livingston with a motor attached once for a friend. Got to around 30 knots when we hit a big wake and the motor did a nice 2 1/2 backward flip (5.5 score for originality and a 10 for stupidity) into about 200 fathoms of water. So make sure its tight on the transom...

well the motor is locked and bolted on the transom. It seems like the pressure is not too bad at 75 feet. I can pull it in by hand while underway, till it moves in about 4 feet then it gets in front of the wave and I cant move it.
Any other sugestions on towing or words of wisdom???
