Our boat is trying to make everyone believe it is an amphibious vehicle. Just got off the phone with Bayside Marine, she needs to come out again to figure out why the outdrive kicked up on us when backing into our slip. Of course we had the entire lock mechanism replaced when we bought boat, but we also had the u-joints replaced too and if you forgot, they busted apart due to back assembly and workmanship.

Keep fingers crossed.

I will be taking donations of infant diapers, as all money set aside for diapers for the new deck hand (anyday now) will be spent on having boat worked on!

Also, please post recommended outdrive antifoul as i will get it protected from the green while out (I promise SS!)

Sorry to hear about that Sunny.
Isn’t the due date 6/1?
I’m sure you both are counting the days now!

Hopefully it's just a little adjustment on the drive. Can't help with the other...Gene

If he'd adjusted his "drive" last time he painted her bottom... maybe he'd have niether problem... :)

Just kidding Sean... Hey, are they gonna pick up the tab for the haul-out? Don't forget to spray the anti-foul this time. Good chance to see if your handywork is sticking at least.

SS...I have already sent them email with attachment of them guarantying their work and that if it was their problem i will be expecting them to pick up the tab and labor cost involved. They didn't fuss last time at the cost.

SS...which antifoul should i use? Do i put it on the leg and transom ring?

To answer your second question, Interlux Trilux 33. Clean, lightly sand and prime with Interlux Primocon. Follow with three coats of Trilux 33. You can extend the trilux 33 out over the hull to cover that 1 inch gap you left between the rest of the bottom paint and the leg. Goes on easily with a brush and dries fairly quickly. The directions called for minimum 6 hour dry time between coats but I wound up giving it more like 24 hours for other reasons.

Thanks Marty! They are hauling it out either this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Will acquire some paint and head up there on saturday.

Hope you get back in the water soon. No fun doing that kind of maintenance this time of year.

The boat is ready to get wet again. We broke the tab off the starboard side of the transom plate and lost the rear hole for the outdrive pin (?). They said it was probably weakened from a collision and finally gave up.

SS...got some antifoul on the drive. They don't sell clear so had to go with white. Drive went from grey to white. Didn't do all the parts just the leg and transom ring. Should make a difference.

I might leave boat out over weekend so i can get my cooler mounted on the swim step, depends on Admirals permission to venture up to boat.

Sean, I mounted our cooler on the swim step of our 39 when we owned it and it was one of the best things I had done on giving us spare room in the cockpit. we had our boat for 5 years and it was in the last year we owned her that I did this- made a big difference in moving around and not having the cooler in the way. I was a bit concerned at first sine the cooler carries the mother lode ( my beer) but fears went away after a few rough water trips and cooler made it safely to port with boat.

We had our cooler on 21' Sea Ray on the swim step. Going to secure it the same way on this boat using stainless u bolts through swim step and the cooler itself and then use the stainless turnbuckles to secure the cooler. We never had a problem with the cooler coming off before and only ever used an additional strap when trailering.

Told the wife it would be much easier to install when out of water where i don't have to work upside down!
