It was called a 2152 back then. We just got it as our first boat. It's going to look GREAT when we get it all cleaned up and ready to go.
It has a Volvo/Penta V8 I/O. We have pics but can't figure out how to post them on here.

Congrats on your first boat. Boating is addictive, there's always another new gizmo that can be added, upgrading something and visiting with new friends. It's great family recreation and a way to see beautiful scenary. Also, now that you're a boat owner, a term with which you'll soon lean is "boat buck". A boat buck=$1,000.00.

Congrats and welcome to the local zoo. Lots of good info here and most of us are friendly... OK, we're all friendly... Post some pics when you get a chance and fill in your signature with all the vitals... Makes it easier to help or whatever... Don't forget, the admiral (spouse) is also very welcome and she will have her own area to talk the talk...

We had a 1984 2150 Cuddy. My parents bought it new. It was a great boat and was fast! It also had the V8 and Volvo outdrive, which was a special order. I remember it doing 56 MPH.
We had a lot of fun in that boat! I wonder if you have it now?!?

Does your boat have a name on it? Also, does it have a full swimstep?

Good question. Yes, it has a name that will SOON be changed. It simply says "YO" on the back. What kind of name is that? lol
Yes, full swim step.

Great name...
Our 2150 had a full swimstep that my dad special ordered when the boat was built. There were a few other things that were unique that I'm trying to remember... It would be cool if it were the same boat, but what are the chances...
When we had it, the boat was named "Mariah" and had real nice vinyl lettering on the transom...
Get out and have fun with that boat!!

We are thinking of a new name...
We will worry about that later. Too much cleaning and restoring to do on her now to worry about that. I spent the evening trying to clean the seats in the back and you would not believe the mess I made in the tub. I don't think the two cushions I cleaned had been cleaned since it was made!!!
I need to try another cleaning compound on the seats (or I may need to just come to terms with the fact that I may not get them as clean as they were when they were purchased new. I'm anal about things being clean and spotless so it's really bugging me......

Try Magic Eraser by Mr Clean... I put a drop or two of detergent in the sponge, dampen the sponge and I used it on my 1956 tbird car seats. First time they were cleaned... came out great!

I'll caution you from using the magic eraser. That product will actually sand the vinyl and thin it out. It will get it clean but it will aslo be thinner and a different smoother texture.

What about Simple Green? Would that help bring all of the rest of the dirt out of the seats? I am working on the bottom seat cushions from the back of the boat.
Don't laugh, BUT...we decided I had some L.O.C. (An Amway product I have loved for many years for cleaning) and after cleaning them as much as I could with that I sprayed Goo-B-Gone stuff all over then then cleaned them again. They turned out the same.
I may be just looking at stains and stuff that WON"T come out and that's a bummer because, besides being kinda dirty, the seats are in great shape.
I also thought about using Comet but didn't because I didn't know it it would turn them a different color...

To clean your seats:
Use SoftScrub with citrus or bleach. -Squirt some on and scrub with a soft brush. Use a toothbrush for nooks and crannies. Works good and you can buy it at your local grocery store. If you use the bleach solution, wipe it down with a wet rag after and treat with Armor All to put back some moisture.
**Note: Wipe the Armor All off good after use or your seats will be too slick to stay in!

Stay away from bleaches. They'll rot the threads in no time.

I also have a 1984 2150 Bayliner Capri cuddy that I just bought a few weeks ago. It has the 4 cyl Volvo and the 270 outdrive. It was in functioning shape when I got it from the Sea Scouts but needs some TLC so this is my winter project. Hope to meet all you folks out there this next summer. I need some advice on where and how to fish the NW as we moved from Wyo several years ago where we always had a boat but this is our first since moving here.
