We have to keep it on the trailer for now. There is at least a 2 year wait for moorage in our area.
It's not all bad, we only live about 2 miles from the ramp.

Just noticed your home port... we had quite the experience in Comox with old Go aweigh... lost my power steering pump as we headed north to Campbell river (1/2 way there). Turned back and used the 9.9 hanging over the stern for the next three hours bucking small craft and shallow water to get back. Spent the next three or four days waiting for the new pulley to arrive via Greyhound bus from Vancouver... we ate in every restaurant we could find and had fun while we waited... But since the new pulley was bigger than the old, the Admiral decided we were going home instead of having the engine cover up and blocked open with 2x4's... Oh well...

Nice place though...

This place has grown on us. We've been here almost 5 years and we might just stay. So far the kids do not want to leave. This town is growing quite fast, but it's mainly people coming here to retire. You can golf almost year round if you don't mind cold rain in the winter. A lot of them like boats as well so thats why it's hard to get moorage. There is supposed to be some marina expansions coming up. Hopefully it'll be soon.

I bought my boat in Portland. I had a list of boats that I wanted to look at in Washington and Oregon so one weekend in October I took a drive. I looked at one in LaConner that is the same year and model as well, and in pretty good condition. The owner was also selling the King trailer that it was on. I'm just wondering if it could be the same boat that you bought.

So far we like ours as well. but then we have only used it once last fall. I'm still finishing some additions to it and hope to get it on the water by mid May....weather permitting. The Admiral is anxious as well so thats a good thing.
Now to keep the kids entertained while on the water.....

Keeping the kids entertained is pretty easy on the water, I don't know your childrens ages but long handled dip nets at the docks and a cheap bucket will keep most kids happy for hours, the small fishing poles with the zebco closed face reels are a must on my boat also.

Our 3rd boat was a 94 2855, we had a good time on it. Had the same power package as you have. It was the last boat I owned that went reasonably fast.

Fishing...definitely. My kids are 10 and 12. They enjoy fishing but get restless pretty quickly when the fish aren't biting. We have a couple kayaks to bring with us that'll help keep them busy. We want to be out for a week so plans are being made to keep them occupied in good weather and bad. :argh2
