Several years ago, my steering cable broke in Plumber Sound. Really a bad feeling when you spin the wheel and nothing happens.
My boat has a Morse control rudder (outdrive) position indicator positioned between the wheel and the dash. It is black plastic hub with a clear little window on top that shows numbers 1-11 on the left and right side of center. When I replaced the steering cable, I did not know the position of the outdrive and so I didn't worry about the proper setting with the outdrive. Now I'd like to set the position indicator to proper alignment with the outdrive. I can't find an adjustment for the indicator. Is there an easy way to set the alignment numbers without taking apart the steering hub behind the dash?
