Ok, some of you heard about my issue last Friday with pulling the boat away from the house and how it hit the house, right/
Here are a couple pics of the trim that got pulled away/stretched from the back corner of the boat.
I looked around the boat and it seems this rubber trim just pulled and stretched because I couldn't find another area that it may have pulled from around the boat.
Should I just cut the excess off and put it back? I tried pushing it back in but there is way too much.
What to do?

Yeah or pull off a section and see if you can go find new. You may have stretched it and it may not go in and stay anyway.

If you look close at this pic, and look at the metal part that holds the rubber trim, on top of the metal, there is a compound that seems to be some sort of waterproof stuff. What is that? Seems some off of it came off with the scrape.

If you look closely, somewhere there is a seam where the two ends come together. Should be on the back of the boat (transom). There should be two buttons that cover the holding screw. Pop the button off that's closest to the slack and unscrew the end. I would pull the rest out to the loop and see if it will snap back to it's original length. If not, keep pulling it out forward and check until the length is back to even. I suspect the "stretched portion" of your rubrail is somewhere inside the channel. I would not cut any of the rubber off as at some point in time it will slide back to it's original length and you risk having a large gap in your rubrail. If that happens, you will need to replace the entire rubrail.

If it's not hard (ie smears) it's probably silicone or something similar. Makes it easier to work the rub rail into the channel. You can buy a can of spray silicone at Schucks should you need to use it for that purpose.
Sorry, I didn't read your post well enough. That's silicone based caulking on top of the channel.

Thanks. I'll check on that.
