I want to replace the Raymarine 210 with a Standard Horizon Model with DSC.
Does anyone have any recommendations on the model.
I will try to re-use the same mounting location, and make a bezel to cover the old footprint.

I have the Standard Horizon GX3000S, and although I've only had it for a short time, I really like it.

One of the nice features is the mic is a speaker mic, allowing you to hold it right up to your ear in noisy conditions.
A few weeks ago I heard a distress activation. The user didn't have their radio completely configured (No MMSI, GPS), so there was a lot of missing information. Had they been set up, I can see where it would be helpful!

I did exactly that last year- I replaced my Raymarine with a S/H Quest-X GX1500S:

The fit was almost perfect (had to do a bit of trimming). I like the rotary channel selector vice stabbing at buttons.
I also added a RAM Mic and mounted it in the cockpit.

Does the microphone shown have the speaker built in or did you buy the Optional one in addition.
I was looking at the GX1500S

but either need to buy an external speaker or the Remote Hand unit.
Below you can see the location of the existing Radio.

Since it's so low, it's tough to hear so the MIC/Speaker would be nice.

I have the external speaker mounted on the dash at face level. Really a big help.
I'll be replacing the radio I think, or adding a second VHF. The old JR-500 VHF has DSC, but a very limited feature set.

Here is the one I installed on the fly bridge. I am happy with it so far.

This is the one we bought along with the remote mic. Main unit is up top and the remote down below along with the handheld backup.

Great radios, but he's looking for a similar sized radio for a replacement; the 3000 and the Uniden are larger format (like the Icom M504).

That's correct and the one I showed there seems to be pretty close. I can make a bezel to reinstall the head in the same spot.
