Check out this webcam of Lopez Islander Resort. Where are the boats? I wonder what percent their marina business is down since May 1? Hopefully business will pick up for them.

Have you folks that have been out and about noticed fewer boats on the water or less marina business?

Wow... don't know if that's bad news or good news... :)

Only TWO boats that I can see at Fisherman's Bay.

Might be time to head up :)

Well, I know they are busy the 4th weekend. I just tried to book a slip there and was told they are full on the 4th.

Yeah... but it sure looks like the weeks in between the holidays are sure lean.

Might be a good time to plan some mid-week trips.

I believe that fuel prices are causing people to reduce their weekends out and they have to pick and chose which weekends, and they are tending to select the major holiday weekends.

Looking out over Possession, it sure is lonely out there. Not the usual boat traffic of past years.

The last few years it has been slow up there, if you ask the marinas they have told me the real business never picks up until the July 4 Holiday. Most people know a vacation in June can be iffy for decent weather.

Yep, I have two trips planned and booked for the San Juans this year. Both of them 10 + days one in July and one in August. I may throw in a few three day weekends also depending on time.

I was just thinking the same thing. We're overlooking the Sound and Possession here as well. Not so many boats for sure. The occasional sailboat or barge.

Yes, I mentioned it the past several times we stayed out... Bell, Friday Harbor, Gig harbor, Des Moines last weekend... all been lacking boats, not moorage...
