I typically keep my charts behind the dinette back cushion for easy grab while underway. But once the seat is opened to access the locker below, some invariably fall into the locker and I have to dig until I find it...
I was thinking of having the Admiral make a cloth bag and I could velcro or screw the bag at the back side of the head and store my charts... Then the Admiral comes down with a ton of material and these silly crate racks...

and so I took one, bent it in my vice and using wire hangers, screwed it in place to make it into a chart holder. Easy access and out of the way too. I know, simple but effective...

20 minutes later... done... Guess who is bored when not on the boat... in the water?
