it'sa yf12 drone that was piggy backed on top of the YF12...I can't remember the designation of the drone but it was cancelled due to funding.....later the YF 12 was developed into the SR71 spy plane....the drone never went into production.......there is a real one down at the Museum of flight at boeing field......the drone was to carry a camera package or warhead.......but it couldn't mate back up with the mother plane.......pretty cool .....

You're right. I stumbled across this the other day in a Google search. It's the D-21 Tagboard drone... flown from the back of the A-12 (which became an M-21 with drone attached).

The one at the museum must be #502.
