Ok so my gas is bad for my dink and it has been a long time since I had an outboard. Is the correct mixture 50:1??? It is an 1995 (I am almost sure) Evinrude 4 HP. If I remember correctly in general all the pre-1965 OB are 25:1 and the post 1965 is 50:1 but I may be backwards. I also may be confusing this with my chainsaw. Anyone have the specifics?

50-1 is right on. You will hear folks tell you that 100-1 is ok but my outboard guy says "its better to burn a little more oil than replace your outboard"

Thank you very much for the confirmation!

Yeah, the older ones are 50:1, but in an attempt to appease the EPA, they started building everything to run at 100:1. I can't see how the designs would be any different, except maybe the mixture they're set at.
Like Kirkster said, I'd stick with the 50:1. Worst case you'll foul plugs a bit more often, but that's no biggey.
