Just an FYI for everyone but I just read that Port Orchard's fuel dock will be closed until mid-September. Closest fuel is Brownsville.
We were just there a couple of weeks ago getting gas and they didn't mention anything nor were there any signs (that I saw) mentioning the closure...kind of frustrating.
Good news is that after a year, they will finally be getting their diesel tanks fixed.

Here's fair warning about Brownsville, learned a few weeks ago.
The foot ferries are filling there because of the Port Orchard situation, and, they have a contract to keep a minimum amount of fuel on hand. The tank is small, too. Be sure to check if they have enough to sell you before you count on it.
At the time, the price was great - they just couldn't sell me any!

I ran into that situation last weekend when we tried to fill at Pt Orchard as well. The fuel dock at Brownsville stays open until like 7:30 or 8. But the plus was is gas was just $4.16, the cheapest I have found so far this summer.

Yeah, the new program is pretty good. I got a 70 cent a gallon discount last week. Only bummer is it's now limited to 25 gallons. :(

Recently, gas at the Yarrow Bay Marina dock was $5.40! Guess I need to get off Lake Washington more...

It was only $4.35 at Everett tuesday. Still cheaper than having to trailer in the long run. :)

I had Dagmars fuel truck fill it up this past Thursday for $4.30 while I was at work and they just send me the bill. That is worth it to me.

Yeppers, and you don't have to burn the fuel to get there and back. :)

I don't want any of you to mention Dagmar's again. It sounds like a dream...that will never come to Kitsap Peninsula, that is.

yeah... I'm really liking the whole operation up there. Good folks and beats trailering or mooring on many fronts.

It's great news to hear Port Orchard fuel tanks will finally be replaced, sad that it may affect boating in that area contrary to what this article says. We've never been but from what the book says "Brownsville, an economical full service marina is about 4 miles south of Agate Pass Bridge & 7 miles north of Bremerton in Port Orchard passage across from the west side of Bainbridge Island". Thanks for the tips & forewarnings about calling ahead about their gas supply.
I am a little surprised though, when I spoke with PO staff in July about the rendezvous they didn't mention the closure so it's probably a good thing the September rendezvous choice was Kingston this time.
Port Orchard is a great little marina not to mention the best hot showers around. It's still a great place to meet although when it's in full operating order again it'll be a great place to gather for a weekend...! :)
