So I've got 2 Lowrance head units, a LCX27C at the lower helm, and a LM520C on the bridge. I also have a LGC3000 GPS antenna connected via a NMEA network. The NMEA network seems to work fine. Both units see the GPS antenna, and each other. I have the dual band 50/200 KHZ transducer hooked up to the LCX27C and an LowranceNet Ethernet cable running between the two so I can share the transducer.
The problem is all I get on the bridge display for sonar is a flashing "60.0 Ft." and 32 degrees for water temp. I can go into the Ethernet menu and it shows the other unit hooked up, and it will show that both are talking. That is they are both transmitting and receiving data between the two. And the upper unit will show that the lower device is sending a correct depth in the menu which shows what data is being sent, however the display only shows the flashing "60.0 Ft.".
I switched the two displays and the same thing shows up on the upper, while the lower displays fine.
Lowrance says I must update to version 2.3 of the software (which was released in March 2008) for the transducer sharing to work, but I'm pretty sure that both of these units are V 2.4. But that might not be right because the latest on the Lowrance site is 2.3.
Any Ideas? I might have to break down and call Lowrance tech support and wait the 40 minutes :?

Yeah, I'm sure they'll want to have both units talking and utilizing the same firmware.

I would update the software. I had to update to the new 2.3 software on my LCX-37C in order to use the broadband Sounder and the Navionics chip. There is no version 2.4 software for your units.

Version 2.4 just hasn't been released on the web site yet. The tech confirmed that it is shipping on new units. I'll download 2.3 just incase I'm a total idiot and didn't read the software version correctly. I'm 99.9% sure it's 2.4
I don't have the broadband sounder. It not required for basic transducer sharing, which is all I really want. Oh and I am using the Navionics Gold chip.

The update is required for the Navionics Platinum chip. I had the broadband sounder installed when I bought the boat and I thought I was using it all along. I then was scouting for a good chip with maps on it and discovered that you needed the 2.3 software installed for the broadband sounder and the Navionics Platinum to work. I upgraded the software and now the broadband sounder is working  Now I just need to find some water that is 4000 feet deep to test it in. :)
