New to the area and enjoying the beauty of the San Juans. We have stayed at a few marinas but really enjoyed anchoring at Garrison Bay and Aleck Bay. Wondering if others would share their favorite anchoring spots. Thanks and have a safe holiday weekend.

We stayed at Todd Inlet on the hook a few weeks back. It was pretty cool back in there. Just behind Butchart Gardens and within easy walking distance to to the gardens. Very cool little inlet.

Sucia Island... Fossil Bay for good protection from seas and Shallow Bay (for sunsets)

Eagle Harbor on the east side of Cypress. There is no dock, but there are lots of forest trails on Cypress.

I agree. I think that has got to be one of the best. Very Very Quiet and peaceful.

Fisherman Bay at Lopez Island is a good anchorage in addition to the ones already posted.

I'm with Fred - just a click north at "Elephant Cove" though. Two little bays that are just outside Eagle Harbor. It's less than 45 min from our slip in Anacortes - so we probably go there more than anywhere. Great hiking and morning sun.

We spent the weekend on the hook at two new anchorages. First is in Blind Bay on the north side of Shaw Island. Pretty good place, but you do get the occasional ferry wake. Blind Island is a cool place to just sit and watch the boat traffic.
Our second location was up in West Sound, off Orcas Island. We found a nice anchorage on the north end, next to Skull Island, in Massacre Bay. The water was like glass. It seems like nobody even knows it exists. It is one of those places that when the sun goes down, it gets dark enough to actually see the stars.
