I just want to clarify a remark that was made that I
know nothing about boats, and never had any.
I grew up with antique mahogany boats, and have owned
them until 2004 when I decided that the upkeep was too
much for me as I am approching 60.
I have had open heart surgery and was left with a serious
back injury due to a woman who while yaking on her cell
phone, rear ended me royally.
2005, I decided to go fiberglass and decided on Bayliner for
a boat for New England, and Bayliner for a Florida boat.
At the first of the year, I decided to come out of retirement,
and have been selling boats ever since ....
The dealership I work at sells the following:
Bayliner - Trophy - Tahoe - Nitro
Tracker & Sun Tracker Pontoons

I am also a Webmaster, and do the Dealership website:

1. You've worked at a Bayliner dealership since the start of the year and you are shopping the country looking for a deal on a 325? Don't you get an employees-only price, "X" dollars over invoice? You were going to beat that?
2. You've worked at a Bayliner dealership since the start of the year and you don't know how to wax a glass boat? Doesn't your service dept wax boats? My dealer's does.
3. You've worked at a Bayliner dealership since the start of the year and you asked everyone here for instructions on how to install antennas, fishfinders and VHF? Why didn't you ask your workmate, Joe the mechanic?
4. This just comes to light now???
5. Sheesh.

Different Boat Dealers offer different incentives for their
employees. Just because one works at a dealership, be
it cars or boats, does not mean you will get the best price
on the product. When it comes to spending 100k plus, I
will hit up every dealer I can to get the best price. If mine
wants to match a better price, fine .. if not, I will without
hesitation, go get the best deal.
In one of my businesses. I sold Lladro, Hummel and also
Swarovski Crystal .... Did I have the best deal .... NO
Costco on those items were selling some pieces cheaper
than I could get them for.
I asked in posts about waxes etc. to get different opinions
on different products. What one likes, the next may have
something a little better. That is why you have forums to
get all sides, not one persons opinion.
We sell mostly Maguires, now thanks to the forum on IBNW,
the owner is going to carry SeaPower also.
My antiques boats were not waxed, I used multiple layers
of Captains Spar Varnish, because a couple coats were taken
off each spring, and new coats added.
I asked about the different products, again to get different
opinions on the variety that is available. I do not like to buy
something the first guy suggests.
I asked alot of questions, yes .... but I also took a majority of
those replies and based my purchases on the majority, not
what one person recommended.
I AM NOT a mechanic, and I don't really hang around the service
area, I basically sell the boats ....

You are full of B.S.
I do not believe a word you say about anything.
:tool:
Gosh... tell us how you really feel Scott :D
It is kindof hard to fathom Al. Suddenly you've gone from no boat... to a boat salesman. Ted's gonna have a field day with ya...
He was Olympic's "Rookie of the Year" first year out... Sold a butt-ton of boats. I'm sure he'll be all over ya on this one... :?

Mike,
Why do you keep insisting basically I've had no boat ?
I have had boats of my own since 1970 ....
What do you mean Ted's going to have a field day with me ?
He is a salesman, I am a salesman ....
Evidently he's done well for them, I've done the same here
for this dealer ....
So whats the big deal ? Are you waitng for an argument to start
between us ? Mike, I told you I will not get in an argument with
Ted on your site, and that I meant .... I realize he does not like
me, so we leave it at that and don't bash each other.
I can assure you right now, I will not get into any argument with
Ted here on IBNW. I hope that you would be fair, and if it gets
out of hand, you do something about it.
I am saying right now that if he wants to bash me, or maybe
even have a proper conversation, I have an e-mail addy:
lazyflamingo@att.net
You mentioned to talk more about boating here in the forums.
OK, I posted pix of the boat, and I have revealed what I have
been doing since the first of the year - all boating related ....

The utter absurdity of this latest revelation has caused me to say nothing more than.........Ya right Al! Ted

I've been quiet same as Chris, but since he voiced up I will too. I thought allowing Al in here was a bad idea, still think it is. Boat salesman huh? You've been playing us since the gitgo. Good job ! You say you had several successful business', you must have been a real SOB to work for with your total lack of respect and consideration of other peoples wishes. Why are you so lonely that you have to "hang out" on a website thousands of miles away and bother people you don't even know? For that matter why is Seapup so lonely he has to befriend a troll from who knows where and drag him in here?
Back to the issue...Al...you've repeatedly posted contrary to the wishes of our members, you've at best decieved us, you don't live here, have no reason to be here and no one here actually knows you. You have no right nor valid reason to be here. Really time for you to go elsewhere and do your thing to someone else.
I for one have no issue with somebody living away from the Pacific Northwest and posting here. For example, Roel is halfway around the world and I enjoy reading his posts here.
SS, why not set up a non-boating related category on the site? This will allow people to post jokes and other things that are not boating related.
Raul
I just got off the phone with the Sales Manager (Bruce) at Marine USA, Inc. (1-800-370-2628). He does know of Al... and the first thing he had to say is "he's a strange bird and a trouble maker"
He stated that Al IS NOT a salesman for Marine USA, but is instead a customer for one of their affiliates, All Outdoors down in Hadley. He has personally had interactions with him and had to ask him to leave the their booth at a local show there recently.
He will be contacting the owner there, Mr. Kevin Pelissier, to find out what the story is behind this, and put a stop to any misrepresentation.
Al... to say you're one of their leading salesmen is a bit of a stretch don't you think?
This is starting to ball up on you now. I had hoped you could come over and gleen some information about your new Bayliner from the folks on here, but it appears you're likely gonna get eaten alive in this one.
You should be more careful with your claims. Just like "your" design of The Lazy Flamingo... it turned out to be the Copyrighted material of a restaurant chain you once ate at in Florida... (I have emails from them as well) you've over-extended yourself a bit on this too.
Good luck with your boat sales in the future Al... but I don't think your time here will last much longer.

Gene...I'm not lonely....but as an honorable person....I felt compelled to defend someone that is being attacked for no apparant reason other than a dislike of posting style......lonely......not hardly........
Al...From SomeSailors posting ...you have lied to us and used my defense of you as just more ammunition to ryle up 2 websites.....I'm sorry to say that I have been made a fool of and can push for you to be banned from this site......I trusted you to be telling me the truth and to act in an honorable way here......but when I just read mikes post that you are not a salesperson of distinction at the place you stated....and to find out that you've been asked to leave a business and have had several run in's.....I cannot and will not support that person any longer..........
To you guys...I can only offer an appology for defending someone that has no honor or the ability to tell the truth.....I'm truly sorry that this has escalated to this proportion........
No worries Steve...
I told ya... there was something just not quite right all along, but I felt compelled to do the same thing.
Defending someone is not a bad thing at all... I did the same thing.
It's actually a bit funny though. When I called up there this morning, I was put on hold for a bit. When he got to the phone he was laughing and knew exactly who I was talking about. He had a thick MA accent... sounded like I was talking to a lobsta fishaman :)

ok hen's...everyone needs to take a step back and get back to boating.....mike...put a ban on Al and lets let life live on.........I'm pretty disgusted right now with the whole thing..... :?
:argh arr
Yeah... I should probably put this whole thing to bed.
I need to run down to the vinyl store... I'll drop the hammer when I get home.
Don't sweat it Steve. We've talked about this and I completely agree with your philosophy on this. You meant well and Al should've been a bit more restrained in his claims. It takes away from what is probably a pretty interesting guy.

Really the only damage done is the betrayal of Seapup's trust. That is a bad thing. Shame on Al, chin up Pupster, you have nothing to apologize for and don't lose any sleep over the likes of Al. Gene

Ok I'm only going to say this once... I TOLD YOU SO!
First of all... you never say anything once. And, if it presented itself again... I'd do it exactly the same way.

I think it's scary what is happening here right now about Al the Lazy Flamingo.
It seems that nobody ever read what I posted here about the visit he made to The Netherlands and the meeting Dutchwavehopper and I had with Al and his friend Arend.
I think a lot is said about his way of posting here and on BOC and I think it's not to me to judge the value of any posts here or at BOC. But I dislike the kind of postings that imho are made for posting only and are probably not written to add antyhing of real interest for the majority of the members. Playing this kind of table tennis, from person S to person A and from person A to person S.and again and again without any kind of unexpected excitement is unless it's played by the Chinese a boring came to watch. Reading a new or an existing topic shouldn't give you the feeling of OH NO! Not again!
Butt it's up to SS here and Strat at BOC to decide how to handle it and keep the quality of our Board in good shape!.
I wrote about Al the Lazy Flamingo in Greetings from the East coast I think it was. And I can tell you that he really exists! :!: No doubt about that. :D I even posted pictures of the event. The first meeting I had was not forseen from both sides. I knew he and Arend would go to Holland Sport Boat Centre to look for the 325. And I thought when they are there in my lunch our I can meet them and big to both our surpise we did. Thanks to Arend's car outside with a lot of US stickers I figured out they were in. I just ask you to consider that DMCB wrote just a week or maybe two ago that he was able to see the new 325 for the first time and we have them in the showroom from early April.!
And one of the sales guys in our midst was in a total other kind of business two? years ago! What you think about the guy is up to you, I wrote what I think the kind of guy he is, but to deny the existence of a guy I met and spoke to is like reading Kafka! :D
And about naiive women, thank God they exist! What would have been my life without them?
Thanks for your reply Roel;
I never doubted that he actually existed. I'd seen the pictures you sent, and trust you so he had that in his favor.
I had originally hoped he could get a "fresh start" over here and learn more about his planned boat purchase and be able to take from some of all the experience on here and make a few friends. I really think the latter is what he needs more than anything else.
But... I really grew tired of the types of posts he'd throw in there as well. Like you've seen, he'd throw the weirdest of comments into almost every conversation.
When it finally came down to the last straw... he pulls this amazing story about being a boat salesmen. Not only a boat salesmen, but one since January. He claimed to have sold 6 boats in only 7 days.
Now... in some cases this would be a success story, but this comes from a guy who couldn't spell boat in when he joined here in April. When he popped up with this homemade business card to rub in everyone's faces, I decided to do some research.
The company he says HE DOES NOT work for, is indeed the largest boat dealership, in that part of Massachusetts, but that's actually a pretty small area. Marine US does indeed have someone that is affiliated with them in Hadley, MA. This person is Kevin Pelissier. But in speaking to Marine US home office, the first thing out of the guys mouth was that he knew who I was talking about. He was NOT a salesman, but a customer who bought a small boat from them in Hadley. He's now hanging around and helping them there and won't go away. He knew nothing about 6 boats being sold in 7 days and said he'd talk to Kevin about it. The guy's name is Bruce, and can be reached at 1-800-370-2628. Kevin's number is 413-584-4802.
I don't really care if he's a boat salesmen or in a travelling circus. I am tired of dealing with him and the stupid stuff that goes along with him. I didn't want it to end up this way, but it has.

Thats why you make the big bucks! Seems like nothing is ever an easy call, especially when rejecting a fellow human being, but at times it just needs to be done....
So, Im going on a cruise around England today and will be gone for 12 days..I hope all behave.
