OK... First things first:

I want to recognize the folks that have been here the longest in helping getting IBoatNorthWest going and keeping it going.

I would like to draw from that group to coordinate and chair IBoat NorthWest's chartering Board of Directors.

I'm looking for volunteers (5 or so), but I'll be restricting this to a handful of people that have been here the longest and most actively involved. There's probably a general consensus of who these folks are... and I'll brain-storm a few off the top of my head. If I miss anyone, don't feel slighted, it's likely old-age.

I will be asking advice from you guys to help properly word a charter and by-laws that will lay out the Club in a manner that won't be cumbersome, or more difficult than it needs to be.

Please help me if I miss any obvious candidates. Once we flesh this list out, I'd like to get 5 or so volunteers from this group.

Bob (WebJammin)
Brad (BradVO)
Doug Cook (GoAweigh2452)
Doug McB
Gene (HeyMagic)
Ken (3788Sam)
Nelson (Spud)
Randy Hein (RandyGH)
Roel Jansen (Roel Jansen)
Roy (Pegasis)
Scott (Stompor)
Sean (Sunnydude)
Tally (Wickus)
Ted Newton (Tedster)
Tony Gibbons (Kids Tuition)

There won't be any prestige... :) Just a committee that votes with the best interest and insight as we proceed with approving a by-laws and getting some volunteers for a few key positions.

Also... being a member of this Board won't preclude you for being nominated to any key positions within the club or the perks associated with those.

Thanks - mike

NOTE: Those in GREEN, have been stepped up and will serve in this capacity to get us going.

Mike--are you thinking of a not-for-profit organization such as a 501(c)4? The club would need to file for a federal I.D. tax number and state I.D. number. I don't know if the state number would be a UBI number. The Wenatchee Sportsmen's Association was organized in 1947 as a 501(C)4 but we're in the process of changing to a (C)3. The Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws for the WSA are very simple and straightforward. We have the usual suspect club officers and a 15 member Board of Directors. If interested, I'd be glad to copy the documents and send them to you to assist the club's intial board in drafting the documents. Any attorney lurkers that could help out?

Shoot me an email for the positions you'd be interested in and I'll add that to those you've already been nominated for.
