Nominations for Vice-Commodore

I'm soliciting nominations for Vice-Commodore of the I Boat NorthWest Yacht Club / Cruising Club (name to be determined).

Specific duties to outlined separately.

Please nominate ONLY via email (nominate@iboatnw.com), any member(s) you feel would be a good leader and fun person to help guide this Club along its path.

You can volunteer to place yourself in the nomination list as well.

General Election(s) will be held at a future date.

DUTIES (subject to change pending By-Laws Approval)


Commodore: The Commodore shall be the chief executive officer of the club. The Commodore shall enforce the by-laws, rules and regulations of the club, preside at all meetings of the club and of the Board of Directors, appoint Standing Committee Chairs as prescribed elsewhere in the by-laws and as agreed upon by the Board of Directors; represent the club at all matters affecting the club, and shall keep the membership of the club adequately informed of all club activities. The Commodore shall sign on behalf of the club, all contracts, insurance commitments, bonds and other written instruments approved by the Board of Directors. The Commodore shall be the ex-officio member of all committees and shall sign membership cards..


Vice Commodore: The Vice Commodore shall perform the function of the Commodore in the Commodore’s absence. The Vice Commodore shall supervise the various committees to ensure the committee is functioning and that the task assigned will be properly prepared and carried out on time. The Vice Commodore shall chair the program committee.

One addition, I'd like to get confirmations from those nominated if they'd be willing to take on the job if placed on the ballot.

We've talked a bit and I think the Vice-Commodore will the nominee with the highest vote count, and the next highest two will be our first Rear Commodores. In the future, we can draw from them to replace Officers who step down.

So... please give me the names of anyone you feel might make a good Vice-Commodore or Rear Commodore.

I repectfully decline my nomination as Vice Commodore as I have accepted the Fleet Captain role. Thank you to whoever thought that would be a good fit for me, but I'll learn a little more in my first postion in a Boating/Cruising/Yacht Club
