I'm up for this one.
I think that since it's a charter year for the club, this can be an important year for growth and stability. Membership being part of the responsibilities of the Rear Commodore, I would like to promote that.

Mighty Mo started the SnoMom's (Snohomish County Mothers Of Multiples) along with a few other members of another club further south. She was President the first year and I know there is quite a bit of info she has gone through and advice for us to glean from it.

I haven’t volleyed in too much on the by-laws since the appointed committee had that assigned task but I think they look good.

I think it will be an interesting to watch this “Cruising Club” evolve and grow. One of the elements that intrigues me about this “iBoatNW Cruising Club” is that it’s affordable, not hoity toity, firm to promote Fun in Boating. I like that it’s free of boundaries and is welcoming those from British Columbia and states other than WA. I want to make sure My Kids have similar experiences joining other families of boaters like I did growing up, so to have a Kid Friendly club is important to Mo and I.

Anyway, I accept the nomination, I’m Todd Olason and I approve this message

Alright!

We have one nomination accepted.

Any others out there?

Remember... it's just a nomination and once the membership gets established, we'll vote and get the officers in place.

All candidates should share there thoughts on some questions that will allow us to make an informed decision before we vote:

1. Do your Admiral/Captain and dog approve of candidacy?

2. What are your thoughts on lutefisk? Do you believe it is fit for consumption by non- Norwegians?

3. Since we import more oil from Canada than any other nation, would you be willing to sit down with Prime Minister Harper and negotiate a price break on fuel for IBNW'ers if we travel north of the border?

4. Should the IBNWYC adopt Doug's Bilge Swill as the official club beer?

5. What would you propose to encourage more Admiral involvement in the IBNWYC? (Hiring male dancers for women only club functions or free Starbucks gift certificates are not options.)

I'd appreciate an honest answer to the above questions from all the candidates. I don't want to hear the old political rhetoric, "If I'm elected I stand for change. . . ." or "I've been a maverick all my political career . . . . "

I don't have a dog as keeping 4 kids and one Admiral alive are enough.....yes, My Admiral just doesn't want me to be Treasurer/Secretary

2. What are your thoughts on lutefisk? Do you believe it is fit for consumption by non- Norwegians?

I'm Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish. NO. We have refridgerators now.

3. Since we import more oil from Canada than any other nation, would you be willing to sit down with Prime Minister Harper and negotiate a price break on fuel for IBNW'ers if we travel north of the border?

First yes. If he declines, I believe the IboatNW Navy should invade BC and force into action a more economically friendly pricing structure for fuel consumption amongst recreational maritime vessels and liberate the citizens of BC. We can leave the rest of Canada to the remainder of the Canadian Provinces. We'll call the newly acquired State merged with the existing states of Washington and Oregon: Cascadia. Currently The IboatNW Navy currently has 46% more vessels than the entire Canadian Navy.

4. Should the IBNWYC adopt Doug's Bilge Swill as the official club beer?
Yes, it's taxed less than any other beer in Cascadia and costs less than a gallon of gas or diesel per gallon.

5. What would you propose to encourage more Admiral involvement in the IBNWYC? (Hiring male dancers for women only club functions or free Starbucks gift certificates are not options.)
Since those were the first two ideas I had I'm not sure my third idea of wearing a leopard-skinned banana hammock to every rendezvous is such a good Idea anymore.

One addition, I'd like to get confirmations from those nominated if they'd be willing to take on the job if placed on the ballot.

We've talked a bit and I think the Vice-Commodore will the nominee with the highest vote count, and the next highest two will be our first Rear Commodores. In the future, we can draw from them to replace Officers who step down.

So... please give me the names of anyone you feel might make a good Vice-Commodore or Rear Commodore.

So far I have:

Bob (Webjammin)
Brad (BradVO)
Doug Cook (Go Aweigh 2452) - Accepted nomination.

Ken (3788sam) Declined - Accepted another position
Nelson (Spud)
Sean (Sunnydude)
Ted Newton (Tedster) - Accepted nomination.
Todd (Nehalennia) Declined - Accepted another position

Tony (Dumluck53) Declined

Erik Granroth - (Play-n-Hookie) - Accepted nomination.

The names in GREEN... have acknowledged they would serve if chosen. I need the rest to let me know one way or another. Either in here or an email is great.

I need MORE nominees please... :D

Since it is so hard for me to make many rendezvous, I will regretfully decline the nomination for the position. Thanks for considering me.

Thanks Tony;

That wouldn't preclude you from holding the office, especially since there's a much bigger crowd down you're way now.

Lemme know if you wanna throw your name back in, but I'll scratch ya for now.

That's the spirit. Thanks Sean.

We're just trying to grow a pool of initial folks that could step up if asked and make some Club decisions if called upon.

We'll be holding the vote sometime before the Boat Show and do the appropriate glad-handing there if possible. We're limiting voting to membership, so we'll need to get those numbers up a bit before proceeding.
