I've had the assistance of a group of folks that have been around here for some time (many from the very first day) and have gotten a draft set of bylaws put together. I think it addresses the basics and we'll move forward with membership now.

I'll begin drafting a membership application and build a payment link into the website.

Elections will be limited to paid members, so it gives us a few months to get everyone in who is interested and hopefully be able to have some Officers in place in time for the Boat Show around the first of the year.

Once you are a member, please feel free to help us figure out what direct we'd want to go. A lot of great ideas came up during the development of the by-laws and that discussion and I'm sure even more will come from the rest of you out there as we move along.

I think everyone will be pleased with the fleshing out of the bylaws Mike put together with many inputs from the committee. I also think any changes that are recommended now should be after we run this set of by laws for at least a year unless it is a glaring error. Then revisit them and make chages that work for us. Maybe an annual by laws meeting as we evolve and change over time...?

Yep. I've written that in to the calendar of events as an annual process, as well as elections and get togethers.

I want to get a "smooth enough" copy finished and we'll use that and revise throughout the year as we see things that don't make sense.
