Welcome to I Boat NorthWest Jon, you've come to the right place! Relax, we've all been in that same boat, lol..
Unfortunately the OBC closure was a surprise to many. Be sure to fill out the "UserCP" in the top left corner as soon as you can so everyone will know what type of boat you have and how to help you, ie: type of boat and particulars, type of boating you plan to do, trailered or moored, family, children?
One thing and the most important advice for anyone new to boating, if you haven't already - enroll in a Power Squadron Boating Safety Course (for you and all your family)... IBNW has lots of very knowledgeable, long time boat owners so check back often, you'll have several responses as days go by.

Jon, first thing to do if the boat is new and still under warranty is you can use any mercruiser authorized dealer... and there are a lot out there. Read your owners manual for what you need to do and search this site for winterizing... we have a lot of good advice in here. Ask specific questions...

Hi Jon,
I live north of Battle Ground. You can give me a call or a privet email most anytime, with questions. I may not have all of the answers but between what little that I know, some of my friends and the members of the Fort Vancouver power squadron I think that we can find most of the answers for you.

Jon, I'm guessing Vancouver Canada for you, right? Not Vancouver, WA.
I'm sure I read somewhere that a new Bayliner dealership has already been named in Vancouver Canada. For motor work, like already stated, you can use any MerCruiser shop.

Jon--Welcome aboard. Eagle Lady's suggestion about joining a Power Squadron class or similar organization is right on. You'll meet folks who will get you started in the right way. Every summer we hear of tragedies that result in death or severe injury and most could have been prevented if a boat operator used common sense and obeyed existing maritime laws.
Does your computer's "shift" key work? I only have a 5th grade euatdcoin and I have a duitficflt time reading with when the first wrod of a stnteacne is capitalized.

If he lives just north of Battle Ground, then that is in Washington...near Vancouver.

Dude. Jon. Whatever. You want my advice, give the damn boat away while you still have time. Yes, I said to give it away. You aren't hooked on boating yet. If you get hooked you will probably drop from "middle-class" to lower-class (financially anyway, not personally) if not into poverty. You do know what BOAT means, don't you? BREAK OUT ANOTHER THOUSAND! Hehehehe...
Ahh, I'm just kidding, Jon. You may spend a few BOAT bucks but you will be one happy camper when you're out on the water. And you came to the right forum to get some of your questions answered. There are a lot of dedicated, smart, nice fellows on this board.
Google marinas in your area and also hit craigslist and look for service folks on the boat section. You might get lucky.
Good luck and happy boating!
