must be expanding, just took this a couple minutes ago fom the back deck with my little pocket cool pix.

Can you imagine that thing in any kind of seas. Holy cow the CG got to be higher off the deck than it is wide.

I watched a Discovery Channel special about a Korean company that moves those across the Pacific. The timing is critical too. They get a VERY narrow windows to drive them off as the tide maxes out. The ship can ballast down and they start to roll them off, but it gives like only 4 hours for the entire offload as the tide starts to ebb.

Last time I seen this I was sitting in the Cliff House resturant and a ship came by with cranes on the deck. I also heard they were welded in place. It just does not look like it would be possible to cross oceans, they are so much bigger close up.

That ship looks more top heavy than a crabber iced up in the Bering Sea. I wonder if the cranes' "guts" are stowed low in the ship's holds for ballast?
