The Queen says Washington is already on the global map and well known in Europe, but we need to encourage European tourists to visit our state and develop more business with the nations of Europe. (Didn't Gary Locke say the same thing???) She also suggested we might consider building a state polytechnic institute in Snohomish county. Seems to me we need to adequately fund our existing state universities and community colleges before we build a new institute. Hope her daughter is enjoying the graduation trip to Europe. :x

What a great idea--join the EU . Maybe we could convince Great Britain, France and Germany to subsidize Boeing. We could trade in Euros or dollars depending on which currency would be stronger. If I remember correctly the Euros have had significant value increase while the dollar has been weak.

Randygh,

At the moment the US Dollar costs 0,80 euro cents. But is was 0,72 cents a month ago. So at the moment the US Dollar is gainging on the Euro.

Also don't ask the Germans or the French and the Brittish, to subsidize Boeing.

We already are subsidizing them over here in Europe. Look for the biggest foreign investors already in your country. No, they are not the Japanese either but a very little tiny country in NW Europe! :D

At least what you can do to thank us is drink more Heineken!

Sorry Roel, I quit drinking many years ago. Can't help The Netherlands by buying Heineken. Does your country sell bottled water? It's crazy how much Americans will pay for "natural spring water." It's ridiculous to pay $4.00+ for a gallon of drinking water.

Perhaps your country could export "pure Heineken water. " Our local domestic drinking water is excellent in taste, purity and clarity. When we go boating I freeze water in one or several gallon plastic milk jugs. As the ice melts we use it for our cool drinking water.

We once bout a case of larger bottles of drinking water in the old store that was once in Bedwell harbor- A mere 40 dollars Canadian, at time this would have been around 25 bucks US. Now that is frigg'n crazy.
We still talk about that one.
I bet after that sale the store owners sent the word out that Americans have gone nuts and forget the beer buy more water.
It cost us 50 dollars canadian for a case of beer on the island at the liquor store. Both way to darn expensive.

Another thread sucessfully hi-jacked   . Bottled water isn't nearly as bad as the ol' $4.00 cup-o-joe at a drive-up Lattee stand.
