If we go it will only be a day trip.
One Kid has pictures for dance Sat and the Other has Football on Sunday.
Maybe we can get out Saturday afternoon for an overnighter and come back Sunday AM.
It'd be nice to see Sucia again....it's been years.
I'll talk to the Admiral.

I trailer.
Where are you planning of dumping in?
I was looking at the run from Twin Bridges Skagit launch where I have a pass. That's only 27 miles from Sucia, an hour run.

I dump in at Coronet Bay. I usually can get up there in a little over an hour.

The San Juans were kick ***** last week.
Our goal was to make it up to Sucia Island Thursday after work. But, we were slowed down with a massive power outage that took out all of the traffic lights in Anacortes. Some people do no understand to treat it like a 4 way stop.
We ended up launching the boat around 7:30pm at Coronet Bay. The water was flat and no other boats except the ferry were on it. The admiral and I were both tired, so we just ended up tying up to a buoy at Spencer Spit. Still, no other boats or people were out there. We felt like we had the entire San Juans to ourselves!
The next day, we woke up at 6am and headed off to Sucia. The water was flat, no boats, and blue skies. Once up to Sucia, we headed around the island to see how many boats were up there.
Fossil Bay: 2 boats
Echo Bay: 1 boat
Shallow Bay: 1 Boat
Fox Cove: 0 boats
Snoring Bay: 0 boats
By Friday night the main dock was filled in Fossil bay, and the second dock had a couple of boats on it. Saturday, is when the place started filling up.
The weather was perfect the entire time up there.
I will post pics when I get a chance to pull them off of my camera.

Would love to see the pics JW.
I had the boat out front of the house all weekend polishing.
I'd like to see what it looks like up there; it's been so long.

I will post them tonight when I get home. I let the admiral take most of the pictures (so I hope they turned out), while I shot all of the video.

The tides were too low to retrieve the boat in Coronet Bay. So, we waited at the floating dock in Bowman Bay

It was a nice relaxing trip. Now is the time to go and beat the crowds. We will be back out next weekend. The admiral wants to do some lake fishing this weekend.

I am going to have to make some adjustments on my trailer before I can tow the boat that far. I don't have enough weight on the tongue and it is causing my rear tires to spin when I step on the gas. I need to pull the boat off the trailer and saw a few inches off the bunks.

We'll be leaving Everett on Friday evening around 6:30. It should a nice calm run down there(about 1 1/2hours). Let's cruise together.

Because We heard you were going to the SJ's...
Actually, Eagle Lady stepped up to host a cruise to Des Moines (their backyard marina). Theme is Luau... Come on down and have some fun. Might even let you fish in the fish pen there...

Sounds like it would be a blast, but I could not get the boat from Anacortes down to Everett in time. I will meet up on another one in the future.
Thanks for the invite though!

Why is everyone going to Des Moines?
We wanted to make reservations somewhere south to mid-sound so that IBoaters from the that part of Puget Sound could make it; Gig Harbor-Arabella's, Dock Street in Tacoma and a others were full for each weekend we checked.
While IBNW was at the Boat Show in January we found the "Des Moines Marina" booth and asked about available dates....they had openings and that's how Des Moines was chosen. Granted there aren't alot of activities such as the Farmer's Market right now (opens June 1st) but it's a nice quaint calm marina with a park and beachcombing nearby, hot showers, several restaurants from fast food to elegant, wifi, fuel, pumpout, and good people. It isn't the San Juans but that'll come later...
We do hope you can join us for "How the HULA are you?"! Look for the tent on the dock - that's where our reserved slips are. ;)
