Got the ranks working again... and as you post more you should see your ranking increase. Its set by default to Navy rankings (go figure), but I also have all the other branches... so if you want your own branch... just remind me next time it promotes you and I can set you up as whatever branch you prefer. It has to be done manually... but at least you'll be in the right branch of your former service.
Oh yeah... got yer pirate back Steve :argh

Thanks again Mike! Might have started as a wing nut, but got all the respect for our Navy brothers!
Join the Navy see the world - from the inside of a sewer pipe.

Your right on about the Golf courses. If you need mile long runways you might as well have enough room to build 18 holes too!

Mile long??? ... If A REAL pilot can't get the TWO-Wire... he doesn't even need the 710 he has :D
Heck... Navy pilots are so good, they decided 4 wires is a waste of real estate and new carriers only have 3 now...
185MPH to ZERO ... in just under 710 ft :)

Yea put a BUFF down on a carrier and see what happens!
I heard the reason for 3 wires is so that an aircraft coming back with ordnance can land without jettison it. Needed longer cables to stop the planes with the extra weight!

We never bring bombs back... very bad juju...
It is to extend the length for heavier aircraft and load-outs. An FA-18 is so acurate on ACLS that they have to de-tune the thing so the planes don't wear a slick spot in the same place all the time. One less wire won't bother anyone. They routinely pull #1 and #4 anyhow when bringing nuggets aboard and when the RAG flies out.

I can remember drilling with BDU-53 (practice shape for a B90 nuclear depth charge) and have a picture somewhere of me standing beside one as a new 2nd Class in the late 80's.
When the metal actually hits the meat... your subs are so many imploding garbage cans littering the bottom... :)

Mike,
It'svery nice, but clear as mud to me.
I really have problems wit all that buddy stuff. What's the meaning of it or in plain Dutch I saw that suddenly when my cursor was on the pad of a buddy on my buddy list that they couldn't see me when I was hidden or some thing?
clicking on it opened an eye! Not a real eye opener for this poor guy! :(
So I have deleted my buddy list waiting how it reallyshould be used and what it is for.

In your profile... the part you setup usingthe"profile" button. This softaware has the ability to allow you to "ignore" people if you so chose. You can set someone to be on your "ignore" list... and it will appear as though they do not exist.
No private emails... no status indicator, etc. It's not a feature that'll be used much, but I installed this portion of the profile software because the "calendar" uses the extended birthday info and such to automatically fill in everyones birthdays.
If there were a person you did not like, you could hide your private information such as email, etc from them.
Just a configuration item. No big deal really. Nothing changes if you don't use it.

Hi Mike,
This has nothing to do with the service branch rankings or the "talk" all you guys are having but I am curious.... how or what creates the change in ranking of that little black "unknown quantity at this point" square? I thought it might be with the number of posts but some members with few posts and a few with -0- posts have already been changed to green ....? Do we have to go through some sort of hazing ritual before being acknowledged? Lol…
Thanks,
Loraine :D

Just click on someones "scale" at the top right corner of a post and it will increase your "reputation". I just gave you one...

It's a method that people can grade each other's posts. You can award "reputation points" for particularly good posts or replies.
Eventually, their posts will show a bigger scale... and give you some idea of their quality (from a users perspective)
