View Full Version : GENE - "Missy" Graphic
Hey Gene;
Got your first revision posted in the gallery. We've still got some wrangling to do with it, but take a look at the first draft.
Here are some issues though:
- 12 in "M" doesn't quite get the length you want. Changing proportions is an option but which would you prefer? Longer letters, taller letters, or both?
- Drop Shadow. this first rev has it .3" down and left. (it appears .3" behind the letters above it) Does that look about right?
- Font and centering of hailing port? (overall placement?)
Lemme know as these are EASY fixes and I've got all the time in the world.

Here's the same image with the letters "Missy" stretched to 40"
It widens the letters a bit but looks OK I think.

Mike,
You better be careful!
Hey... it's a VERY cool toy. :)
Ya gotta see it ripping along at 24inches/sec ... pretty awesome plotter.

You da man Mike!! Let's go with just "Missy", no hailing port and 36" wide. Gene
OK... here it is without the hailing port, stretched to 36" horizontally, holding 12" vertically (on the M) and with a .3" drop shadow.

That "Y" droops a bit... you got room for that?

Yup, that'll do it ! Have you got one shade darker on the blue??
I'll have to order the vinyl anyhow, but pick your colors from this chart, and let me know what suits your taste. If it's in stock I can get it here by next week sometime.
These charts don't do them justice, but the colors are a lot more vibrant in real life.

Mike--would the lettering work on an inflatable that is frequently deflated? If I name the new inflatable would lettering stay on when I deflate it for storage?

Randy, the vinyl won't stick on an inflatable for long. many people put the letters on a piece of lexan or poly c and then attach that to the dink on the lifting rope.

The stork arrived yesterday !! Looks great, will try to put on this weekend. You forgot an invoice though... Thanks, Gene
No I didn't :)
I'd get the blue on first... then float the gray on with a VERY mild soap water solution. Like 1/2 teaspoon to a gallon of water. Try to warm the fiberglass up before you apply it hair drier or such. They say not to apply at less than 50 degrees. It works much better when warm.
Also, don't trust those registration marks and try to do it dry. I had a problem with them one before not aligning right. I need to read up on those :(
You ever get that installed Gene?

Ok, so now edumacate me how to make the pic work...
You were so close... :)
Find the picture in the gallery you want to link to... then "right-clight" on it to view it's "Properties" ... (Disregard the little Copyright Warning...)
Highlight and copy the "Image Location" (in this case "http://www.iboatnw.com/gallery/data/media/20/Missy_014.jpg")
... and then past THAT into the image tag in your post.
Like dis: :D
