Coming back from Poulsbo yesterday and decide to stop at DesMoines fuel dock for a fill up for the next weeks trip. Could see the wind was picking up and the tide was high so I wanted to make sure the fuel dock had room for me when I got in there. Another boater was exiting the break water when I called out to him about the fuel dock space and he gave me a thumbs up- So I figure lucky me. I am on the upper helm and feel a bit helpless up there on this boat. I make the turn into the break water and can then really feel the wind pushing me . i am thinking ,don't panic. i then get a visual on the fuel dock- it is full and a couple boats waiting, and the wind is not letting up. I go into a few power turns and get the heck out of Dodge before I destroy the place with Big Bertha. Funny thing is while I am working my butt off to get Bertha turned around I get these smaller fishing boats just darting around by me, freaks me out even more but I hold my composure and get R done. So with no fuel and a brisk wind at this point I decide to head over to Break water fuel dock and give it a try. I get in and there is no wind and pull right into fuel dock. Get all done and the kid rings my total up- ya get a break of a few cents a gallon if ya pay with cash or check so i have the check book out. he gives me the total and I say what?? sounds to high- does it again and same price comes up, still to high. i go ahead and write the check out and told my wife to hang on to the receipt it seems to high. I could figure what was close in my Sun burned head but did not dwell much on it. So I get home and grab the calculator and see it was to High- like I figured close to 150.00 bucks to high.
i called Break water this morning and explained it to them , told them I asked the fuel dock attendant to figure it out again for me twice and it kept coming out the same. So they went through the receipts and sure enough found the problem. They charged me almost 140 bucks to much. He charged me for Gas prices not Diesel. So he asked me how I would like to get my money back. They are going to have a check in the mail for me today.
Glad I made the call, and happy to see the problem was found with out have to provide a receipt.
My head did get baked, I was a little slow but the owners or mgrs I Delt with made things right.
Like fuel is not high enough, right. :D
