I can't wait for this to come out. I am going to upgrade my existing Lowrance sounder to an HDS just for this feature:

Looks like it'd be great for folks that depend on structure for their fishing. I'd hoped someone would come out with a high res forward looking fishfinder myself.
I wanna be ready for what I'm getting ready to pass over.

Interphase has one. I don't know how "Hi Res" it is:

I've looked at those. As cool as they would be, they're stand-alone. I'd like to have something that would integrate into NMEA 2000 and/ or video in.

These are set up to do video output (just a black box or red in this case)- but all the interphase are $$$$

Yeah... but you can't control it without mounting their display. If you're gonna do that... might as well use it.
I want these guys to start building black-box NMEA goodies like this.

Yep I agree a 2000 networkable would be the way to go - BTW the Inter. 200 does come with a controller so you do not need their display. I looked at these pretty close since I have to bottom paint the boat next year but it's still too many boat bucks for me.

Yeah, $1300 is steep, but the main gripe is the keypad. I'd wanna use a NMEA virtual keypad or something along those lines. They need to start stepping up to NMEA 2000. :)

That looks pretty cool. I wonder how detailed it views the bottom in the depths we have around here? He was in a lake on that video, which I'm sure in those relatively shallow depths looks great. It will be amazing to see some of the unbelievable newer technologies that are available today when they come down in price to make it affordable for us.
One of my customers is BluView Technologies. Check out the commercial/military higher end offerings they have.

I offered to be a research vessel for owner....he giggled.

That is incredible technology that Bluview has. I would keep pestering him (if I were you) to get some of that set up on your boat for testing purposes. :)
Lowrance Claims StructureScan works to 300'. Humminbird works to 150'. I did see a sidescan image taken from a Humminbird of a an old sunken fighterplane in Lake Washington at 110', and you could see the outline of it pretty good.
