Its clean !

My mini digital camera made it into the laundry today. After a couple of hours in the sun with the battery and card out it is now in the oven at
135 degrees (with convection fan on).

Any takers on the odds of it ever working again ?

For you bettors out there.......the washer was on perm press and the water temp was "hot". I think it liked the spin cycle the best.

The detergent was Tide Ultra White !

I'm taking it out of the oven now.

You should have soaked it in some distilled water and tried to fluch some of the minerals out left by the detergent.

I put in on the charger. I will wait till morning for the power on.
The light on the charger came on fine.
The chances are slim but the screen lost all the water blobs !

WOW

I can't believe it myself, but I took it off the charger this morning and turned it on. Everything works !

I am going to take some shots today to see if the quality has changed.
The memory card also seems fine.
Even the view screen is not cloudy (it looked like the inside of an aquarium yesterday).

I am sure it is not 100% but I'll test it to see if I can notice any photo quality changes.

So, in conclusion, if you ever want to clean your cameras......just toss them in the laundry

I'm amazed SPUD you must live a charmed life!

One of my favorite commericals was one were a guy is sitting on an airplane repeating over and over " I can't believe I check in my laptop".
But the laptop makes through OK

I was on a flight to Boston with my boss a few yeas back and I told him about the commerical- He looks at me :shock: - Yep he checked his laptop in at the counter with his luggage :oops:

When it came down the carousel - broken in to pieces!

at least it was only broken.....We've been getting reports from people of them getting stolen right out of the bags!!...now if that ain't ballsy :shock:
