I know Langley was going to remove Ben from his duties as Dock master , then I heard he was staying on again a couple weeks ago.
I called up there yesterday to get hold of Ben to check about moorage situation. Found out Ben is no longer there- A guy named Eric is and said call me if you know for sure you will be stopping in and I will have a ty off for ya on the larger dock. Sounded good to me so this may be our first stop tomorrow.

My wife kept wanting to go back to langley but I kinda had my fill of Ben so now a clean slate. I know some of you really liked the guy and so did I until the last coulpe seasons, he just seemed not to enjoy his job much- then when he began making comments about the models of certain boats and there owners I was done with him.

When we went out a month ago to Langley there was a sign on the pay box that he had resigned. We never met him but in reading a 1999 wagoneer's guide they mention him.

Yeah... it sounded like his attitude was his worst enemy. I saw his boat is on the Everett guest dock. I guess he's paying slip fees now :)

A friend went there once on his 38 Bayliner. I understand he got an earful of Bayliner bashing. After that he's never gone back to Langley.

Yeah... we've hashed all this before, but on our first trip over on our 2355 he was real nice. He showed Diane all around his boat, even came aboard ours to look at the downrigger mounts. Nice enough guy... but sooner or later he has to start playing the politics, or become the object of someone elses.

I never got a warm feeling for the guy, he would yell and scream at people all the time. I know a couple of you guy's knew him but maybe I will go back now that he is history.

The wife and I stopped in on our trip back from the San Jauns on the 12th of June and meet Eric. He seemed to be very helpful and friendly.
Yes, we will stop in again.

It's good they have someone in there. That little marina is just too tight to be without someone to run the place on a busy weekend. Great pizza up the hill. :)

Met Eric on Friday afternoon, he will be just fine- he needs to be a bit more prepared on thinking of the size of boats entering and slip assignments. This will come with a little more experience. He is pleasant person to deal with, he seems to love the boating life style and hopes to buy a boat that his wife and he can both live on.
a nice change to see a smiling face, plus was there until ten at night helping.
